Ronaldo v Spain in the First Semi-Final |
I don’t think any team has a more valuable player than Cristiano Ronaldo is for his Portuguese side. He has gotten some criticism in previous tournaments with the national team, but this time I don’t think anyone can complain. However, I think Portugal’s team look more solid than ever before and has really improved since the qualifiers.
This might be their best chance in a long time to beat their rivaling neighbours in a big match. Of course, Spain has a team that can win the Euros (and be the first team to win the Euro/World Cup/Euro) but it feels something has been lacking this time around. Some call their style of play boring, which might be the case in some games, but I prefer it to many other teams recent displays (England anyone?).
Was checking out the odds on under 2.5 goals, but 1.44 might be too low for me. What do you think?
I hope that Portugal will put up a good game tonight and will place a bet on Portugal or Draw double chance for 1.72. Postiga will be missing in the attack for the Portuguese so probably Hugo Almeida (Besiktas) will replace him.
I must say there has been fantastic referring in Euro 2012 so far, and I expect it to continue tonight, even though the Portugal football federation is not happy with the choice of Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir for the clash with the Spainsh. It was all based on some pretty ridicolus theories in my opinion.
Btw, check out our match preview of Portugal vs Spain.
