The big clean-up is underway and the 2012 World Series of Poker is all over bar the shouting, but there’ll be plenty of shouting come the last week of October when the final nine players will come back to contest the Main Event final table.

Day 6 is in the books, and just 5 levels stand between the remaining 27 players and the 2012 final table, which this year will be known as the October Nine as it’s being brought forward by a week so as not to clash with the US Presidential election.

We’re down to double digits at the 2012 WSOP Main Event. After starting the day with 282, just 97 players still have their eyes on the $8.5M first prize.

After another 4 levels today in the Amazon Room at the Rio, the day 5 field is set. The players were due to play 5 levels but there was a long break due to some confusion around the bubble.

Day 3 of the 2012 WSOP has come to a close at the Rio and the field is thinning fast. There are now only about 720 players left of the 6598 that started with a dream last week and Friday the 13th is going to be an unlucky day for 60 or so players who’ll go home empty-handed, with the bubble set at 666 players.
