Which Poker Sites Did the Fish Move To? |
It’s been a bit more than ten days since that dreadful day on the 15th of April where the US DoJ decided to close down the four biggest online poker sites for the US market. If you have somehow missed this news we are talking about Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, Absolute Poker and UB.com Poker. Even though many people are saying that these sites had it coming (which is probably true) it’s still a shame that the US poker players will have to suffer the consequences.
Online Poker is Still Legal in the USA
Yeah, you heard me. In most states of the US it’s still perfectly legal to play online poker, it’s the payment processing that is a grey area and that’s the responsibility of the poker room you are playing at so you can always feel safe playing online poker from the US.
Since the four major online poker rooms are no longer accepting real money poker players from the US there are many players out there looking for a good alternative to Full Tilt and PokerStars.
Where Is the Fish Playing Now?
It’s not hard knowing that the fish that used to play at PokerStars and Full Tilt will be moving to another site where they can continue to lose at the real money tables. Now the trick is to locate where they are heading to. In order to do this you will need to start thinking like a fish. What do the fish like the most? Probably a large welcome bonus and a site offering a Bad Beat Jackpot. Now what sites fit that description?
Well the first two sites that come to mind are Sportsbook.com Poker and LockPoker which are both located on the Merge Gaming Network, they are both offering a pretty large signup bonuses and they are both offering the same Bad Beat Jackpot games.
If you look at the latest traffic stats for the Merge Gaming Network at a site like PokerScout.com you can see that they are the showing the biggest increase in traffic of all the networks since the 15th of April. This is another sure sign that the fish are heading over to these sites.
Now if you are looking to play at the fishiest poker sites I think you have just realized that Lock Poker and Sportsbook.com Poker are the two best alternatives at the moment.
