Problem gambling, also known as compulsive gambling, is defined by the Mayo Clinic as “the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on your life.” If you gamble with money you cannot afford to lose, damage relationships to pursue gambling, or spend most of your day thinking about gambling, then you should seek help.

National Council on Problem Gambling 

The most prominent gambling help organization in the US, the NCPG lists certified counselors and support groups. 

Gamblers Anonymous 

This group therapy organization can point you to a local meeting of people with similar gambling problems.   

GamCare 

This UK-based organization provides a network of contacts for in-person, phone, and online therapy. 

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration
