Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions -2.5 (-115)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green Bay Packers | +2.5 (-105) | +125 | Over 49.0 (-110) |
| Detroit Lions | -2.5 (-115) | -145 | Under 49.0 (-110) |
The Packers shockingly beat the Lions in Week 1, holding Detroit’s explosive offense to just 13 points. Detroit has a chance to avenge that loss on Thanksgiving, and the Lions are 2.5-point home favorites against their NFC North rival.
Unfortunately for Lions fans, the team’s offensive struggles have been a regular occurrence this year. Detroit is just 3-3 in its last six games, and the Lions have averaged 15.75 PPG in their four losses this season.
Green Bay has had its fair share of offensive issues, too, especially at home. The Packers are on the road for this game, though, and they have averaged 27.8 PPG on the road, compared to just 20.67 PPG at home.
Detroit is the favorite, but they needed overtime to beat the Giants last week. The Lions have also not won back-to-back games since they swept the state of Ohio in Weeks 4 and 5.
Jared Goff has struggled with pressure throughout his career. The Packers have a great defensive line and will shut down Detroit’s offense by pressuring Goff early and often. Green Bay will secure the upset in the Motor City this Turkey Day.
- Prediction: Packers +125
Prediction: Green Bay Packers (+125)
Kansas City Chiefs -3.5 (+105) vs. Dallas Cowboys
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kansas City Chiefs | -3.5 (+105) | -170 | Over 52.0 (-115) |
| Dallas Cowboys | +3.5 (-125) | +149 | Under 52.0 (-105) |
The middle game of Thanksgiving’s tripleheader pits the Chiefs (6-5) against the Cowboys (5-5-1) in Dallas. Both teams secured important wins last week against top teams in their respective conferences. However, the Chiefs and Cowboys are also both fighting to get back into the playoff picture after poor starts to the season.
Kansas City is a 3.5-point road favorite in this matchup. The Chiefs’ offense has struggled at times, but their defense has remained one of the best units in the NFL.
KC is one of six teams allowing fewer than 300 total yards per game this year. The Chiefs are also allowing just 18.3 PPG, the fourth-fewest in the league.
Dallas’s offense has been fantastic at home, averaging 33.0 PPG at Jerry World this season. However, the Cowboys’ defense has allowed 28.5 PPG this season, the second-most in the league.
Their defense has improved since the trade deadline, but the Cowboys have not faced a test like the Chiefs. KC will win this matchup and move one step closer to getting back into the AFC playoffs.
- Prediction: Chiefs -170
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens -6.5 (-120)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cincinnati Bengals | +6.5 (+100) | +252 | Over 52.0 (-110) |
| Baltimore Ravens | -6.5 (-120) | -310 | Under 52.0 (-110) |
In the third and final Thanksgiving NFL game this season, the Bengals visit the Ravens in an important AFC North matchup.
Baltimore is a 6.5-point favorite at home for this matchup. The Ravens battled back from a 1-5 start, winning five straight games to take the lead in the AFC North. Cincinnati, for comparison, has lost eight of its last nine games.
The good news for Bengals fans is that Joe Burrow will return this week after missing the last nine games with a turf toe injury. Ja’Marr Chase will also return after being suspended last week. However, Tee Higgins has already been ruled out with a concussion.
Burrow and Chase can give any defense a run for their money. However, the Bengals’ defense is 32nd in yards (415.8) and points (32.7) allowed per game this year. Cincy will put up a fight, but its defense will prevent the Bengals from covering this week.
- Prediction: Ravens -6.5 -120
Best NFL Thanksgiving Props
Top NFL betting sites also have exciting props for this year’s NFL Thanksgiving games. My favorite props for this Thursday’s games are:
- Jahmyr Gibbs anytime TD Scorer and Packers win (+333)
- Patrick Mahomes 250+ passing yards and Chiefs win (+150)
- Derrick Henry anytime TD scorer and Ravens -7.5 (+140)
Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime TD Scorer and Packers Win (+333)
Jahmyr Gibbs had 264 total yards and three scores in last week’s OT win over the Giants. His third touchdown was a 69-yard run on the first play of OT that helped seal the win for Detroit.
Gibbs did not score against the Packers in Week 1, and the Lions are 0-4 this season when he is held out of the endzone. Detroit will make getting Gibbs the ball a priority to help minimize the Packers’ pass rush on Thursday.
As mentioned above, I think the Packers will win this game in the Motor City. Combining Gibbs’ anytime TD scorer odds with the Packers’ moneyline gets you +333 payout odds in this prop wager.
Patrick Mahomes 250+ Passing Yards and Chiefs Win (+150)
Mahomes and the Chiefs are in unfamiliar territory at 6-5 and on the outside looking in at the AFC postseason. However, KC is not eliminated yet, and they still control their own fate in making the playoffs.
The Cowboys beefed up their run defense at the deadline, but their passing defense is still suspect. Dallas is one of three teams allowing more than 250 passing YPG this season.
Kansas City is likely to rely heavily on the pass this week. The Chiefs have one of the worst rushing attacks, averaging just 4.3 YPC and having no rusher with over 500 yards this season.
Mahomes, on the other hand, has thrown for at least 250 yards in nine of his 11 starts this year, including eight straight games. He is favored to hit that mark again against the Cowboys’ 30th-ranked passing defense.
KC is also favored to win and keep their playoff hopes alive. Mahomes topping 250+ passing yards will be a major part of the Chiefs’ chances to win this week. A Chiefs win, combined with Mahomes hitting the 250+ passing yards mark, rewards you with +150 odds in this prop wager.
Derrick Henry Anytime TD Scorer and Ravens -7.5 (+140)
The Bengals’ defense does not do much right. Cincinnati allows the highest total YPG at 415.8 and the highest passing YPG at 259.8. On the bright side, Gibbs’ explosion against the Giants last week increased New York’s average rushing yards allowed to 157.2.
Cincy improved to 31st in that category, but they still allow 156 YPG on the ground. The Bengals also allow 5.1 YPC, fourth-most in the NFL, and have allowed 12 rushing TDs.
This matchup could not set up better for Derrick Henry. Lamar Jackson has not thrown for 205+ yards since he returned from his hamstring injury, and the two-time MVP is now dealing with a toe injury.
Henry should get plenty of carries against a terrible Bengals’ rush defense. Running the ball will also give the Ravens’ defense a better chance at shutting down one of the top passing attacks in the NFL. Henry’s anytime TD scorer odds combined with this alternate spread prop of Ravens -7.5 gives you a potential payout of +140.
