NFL Week 17 Predictions 2025
The top NFL betting sites are full of exciting odds for our NFL predictions for Week 17.
Detroit Lions -6.0 (-113) vs. Minnesota Vikings
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Detroit Lions | -6.0 (-113) | -270 | Over 44.5 (-110) |
| Minnesota Vikings | +6.0 (-107) | +222 | Under 44.5 (-110) |
Detroit suffered back-to-back losses for the first time since 2022. The Lions’ defeat last week put their chances of making the playoffs on life support.
Despite losing three of their last four games, Jared Goff and the Lions are 6.0-point road favorites on Christmas against the Vikings in Minnesota. The Vikes have won back-to-back games but will be forced to start Max Brosmer this week as J.J. McCarthy’s hand injury will keep him from playing on a short week.
Minnesota beat Detroit in Week 9, but they will have a hard time repeating that upset if Brosmer is under center. The Lions are also more desperate now than they were eight weeks ago, and Detroit will pull out all the stops to keep its season alive.
Brosmer also had one of the worst debuts in NFL history when forced into the starting role against Seattle. With him starting this week, Detroit should win and cover against its divisional rivals.
- My Prediction: Detroit Lions -6.0 -113
Houston Texans vs. Los Angeles Chargers -2.0 (-109)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Houston Texans | +2.0 (-111) | +110 | Over 39.5 (-105) |
| Los Angeles Chargers | -2.0 (-109) | -130 | Under 39.5 (-115) |
Houston and LA square off this week in a rematch of their playoff matchup from last season. Based on their current seeds, this could also be a preview of the playoffs this year.
Los Angeles is laying 2.0 points as the home favorite this week. However, the Chargers’ offensive line injuries will make slowing down the Texans’ defense almost impossible. If LA cannot keep Herbert upright, they have no chance of winning this game.
Herbert is no stranger to being under pressure. The Chargers’ QB has been sacked 49 times this season, the third-most of any QB.
Houston’s defense was the deciding factor when these teams met in the postseason. The Texans picked Herbert off four times. If they can repeat that performance this week, the Texans can pull off an upset in LA and improve their playoff seeding.
- My Prediction: Houston Texans +110
Baltimore Ravens vs. Green Bay Packers -2.5 (-116)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Baltimore Ravens | +2.5 (-104) | +132 | Over 40.5 (-110) |
| Green Bay Packers | -2.5 (-116) | -152 | Under 40.5 (-110) |
Another great matchup on Saturday pits the Ravens (7-8) against the Packers (9-5-1). Both teams are reeling from costly losses after their QBs exited early with injuries.
Lamar Jackson left late in the first half with a back injury and did not return on SNF against the Patriots. Jordan Love, on the other hand, exited Saturday’s loss to the Bears in the mid-second quarter with a concussion.
With both starting QBs questionable for this game, each team’s playoff hopes could be in the hands of their backups. Green Bay is a 2.5-point home favorite for this cross-conference clash with major postseason implications.
Green Bay has the better defense, but it has not been as dominant since Micah Parsons’ season-ending ACL tear.
Jackson is also a better bet to start than Love, as the concussion protocol takes a long time to get through. Assuming Jackson pushes through and plays, I think the Ravens are a live underdog this week in Lambeau.
- My Prediction: Baltimore Ravens +132
New York Giants vs. Las Vegas Raiders -1.0 (-114)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York Giants | +1.0 (-106) | +100 | Over 42.0 (-110) |
| Las Vegas Raiders | -1.0 (-114) | -120 | Under 42.0 (-110) |
A battle of two-win teams usually does not draw much attention this late in the season. However, this weekend’s matchup between the Giants (2-13) and the Raiders (2-13) is a rare exception.
New York currently has the number one pick in the 2026 Draft, and the Raiders are second. The winner of this game will lose their chance to have the top pick in April.
Both teams bring nine-game losing streaks into Sunday’s matchup. Las Vegas is a slight home favorite at -1.0 this weekend. New York is available as an even-money underdog on the moneyline.
Ashton Jeanty had a breakout game last week and could take over this game if given the chance. The Giants have the better QB, though, and Jaxson Dart could have a career day against a Raiders’ defense allowing 25.7 PPG.
- My Prediction: New York Giants +100
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Buffalo Bills -2.0 (-110)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Philadelphia Eagles | +2.0 (-110) | +107 | Over 43.5 (-110) |
| Buffalo Bills | -2.0 (-110) | -127 | Under 43.5 (-110) |
Sunday also features arguably the biggest matchup of the weekend, as the Eagles (10-5) visit Orchard Park to face the Bills (11-4). Buffalo is a 2.0-point home favorite in this potential Super Bowl 60 preview.
The Bills are 6-1 at home this season, are riding a four-game winning streak, and have a +90 point differential this season. Philly, on the other hand, is 5-3 on the road, has won back-to-back games, and posts a +60 point differential so far this year.
This game will be decided by two factors: Josh Allen’s health and the Bills’ run defense.
Allen hurt his ankle last week against the Browns. If he is limited in any way, then Buffalo’s offense could be in trouble.
The Bills’ run defense is already in trouble heading into this matchup. Buffalo has allowed the third-most rushing yards this season. They have also given up 24 rushing TDs, the most of any team in the NFL.
If Buffalo cannot stop Saquon Barkley, then the reigning Offensive Player of the Year could have his best game of the season. A big day from Barkley will be enough for the Eagles to win, especially if Allen is limited.
- My Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles +107
