America’s Cardroom is one of the oldest offshore online poker sites that still serves Americans. The site features one of the deepest tournament schedules for US players, strong cash-game traffic, several poker-specific promotions, and software tailored for high-volume players.

ACR appeals most to tournament players and regular grinders, making the overall competition stiffer than at most US-facing poker rooms. Recreational players can choose from plenty of low-stakes options, but the large player pool means they regularly encounter experienced opponents. The site also includes an online casino and sportsbook, but these features are more of an afterthought than a main reason to play.

My Experience at America’s Cardroom

America’s Cardroom is one of my go-to poker rooms for US players as it is primarily a dedicated poker platform rather than a general gambling site. The downloadable client puts tournaments, cash games, and poker features front and center, with far more depth than simply choosing between Hold’em cash games and a basic MTT schedule.

I spent about three days testing various cash games and tournaments. I deposited $100 using Bitcoin, and the funds arrived in about 30 minutes (blockchain traffic was a bit high). I played a mix of low-stakes NL Hold’em and Stud 8 or Better cash games, as well as several MTTs and Spinz jackpot Sit & Gos.

Low-stakes Texas Hold’em and Omaha cash games attracted solid traffic most of the day, but Stud games appeared only during peak hours. Ultimately, I made a slight $20 profit and cashed out $120 with Bitcoin in about 45 minutes.

  • Money Spent: $100 (Bitcoin)
  • Time Played: 3 days
  • Earnings: +$20
  • Browser/Device Used: Google Chrome (PC)
  • Experience: Positive – Fantastic traffic, fast payouts, but mixed game traffic limited to peak hours.
  • Devices android / apple / windows

  • Experienced regulars make some games tougher than other US sites

What Our Reviewers Are Saying

“America’s Cardroom is poker built for serious poker players. The tournament schedule is its top selling point, but cash game grinders will also find plenty of action.” – Taylor S.

“ACR Poker is the top place to play if you grind tournaments. It’s also one of the only places you can play Stud games. However, banking options are limited for non-crypto players.” – Pavo J.

About America’s Cardroom

America’s Cardroom, commonly called ACR Poker, is the leading poker room on the Winning Poker Network. The site launched in 2001 and became WPN’s flagship brand in the early 2010s.

ACR is primarily an online poker site, and while it offers an online casino and sportsbook, these products are secondary.

ACR suits casual and high-volume tournament and cash players, as well as anyone looking for an offshore poker room with strong liquidity. Players mainly interested in casino games or sports betting should look into more specialized alternatives.

How We Reviewed America’s Cardroom

When reviewing this site, I focused exclusively on poker. I evaluated tournament buy-ins and guarantees, cash-game traffic, available formats, rake, poker bonuses, loyalty rewards, software functionality, payment options, and the quality of the overall player pool.

I also examined recurring player concerns. Players have criticized ACR for bots and game integrity over the years, and some have submitted isolated complaints about delayed withdrawals. Fortunately, these complaints are mostly isolated or outdated, as software upgrades have largely resolved the bot issue.

Throughout the rest of my review, I used GamblingNerd’s clear ranking criteria to evaluate banking, bonuses, game selection, customer service, and more.

America’s Cardroom’s Poker Bonuses

ACR has an outstanding selection of poker promotions, more in line with what we’d see at overseas poker rooms. The $2,000 welcome bonus gives players a strong starting point, while established players can add value through rake races, tournament promotions, and loyalty rewards.

How America’s Cardroom’s Bonuses Compare to Other Operators

The $2,000 maximum welcome bonus is larger than the welcome bonus at many competing US-facing rooms. Beyond the welcome bonus, ACR gives players multiple chances to earn prizes through leaderboard races and freeroll tournaments.

The only downside is the lack of ongoing deposit promotions. Casual players looking for reload bonuses will be disappointed. However, the leaderboard promotions and freerolls are ideal for grinders and regular players who want to grow their bankrolls rather than pad their accounts with deposits.

America’s Cardroom VIP / Loyalty Rewards

Elite Benefits is ACR’s poker loyalty program. Players start at Lieutenant after playing their first real-money hand and progress through military-themed ranks by generating Rank Points.

Players earn 5.5 Rank Points for every $1 paid in qualifying rake or tournament entry fees. You’ll also earn Combat Points that can be exchanged for cash rewards at the rate of 100 CP for $1.

You can earn Medals of Achievement based on the number of Rank Points earned. This starts at a $10 reward for 750 RP, while top-level players can receive prizes up to $20,000.

Alternatively, ACR also offers a flat rakeback deal of 27%. When you sign up, the site automatically enrolls you in Elite Benefits. You can make a one-time request to switch to rakeback. However, this change is permanent, so compare both options before switching.

Our Favorite America’s Cardroom Promotions

100% Up to $2,000 Poker Welcome Bonus

New players receive a 100% match on their first deposit, up to $2,000, when they deposit at least $25. No bonus code is needed.

ACR releases $1 of the bonus for every 27.5 Award Points earned through cash-game rake and tournament fees. You have 60 days to clear as much of the bonus as possible.
This simple rewards structure is best for regular poker players, especially cash game players.

The Beast and Blitz Beast

The Beast is ACR’s weekly cash-game rake race where players can earn cash and tournament entry tickets. Players automatically earn points by contributing to rake at eligible cash tables, with one point for every $0.02 they contribute to rake.

Fast-fold players have a separate reason to use Blitz Poker. Blitz Beast features a separate weekly prize pool and automatically awards points as players grind Blitz tables.

The site advertises weekly prizes up to $100,000, but actual amounts can vary depending on participation. Players can track their progress through the leaderboard.

Sit & Crush

ACR extends its rake races beyond cash players. Sit & Crush rewards players who participate in Sit & Gos, Jackpot Poker, and eligible On Demand tournaments.

Tournament entry fees determine point totals, not event performance. You can also earn double points when playing On Demand tournaments. Standard MTTs and cash games do not qualify.

America’s Cardroom Welcome Bonus Value
Calculator stock image

Like most poker rooms, ACR bases the welcome bonus on your play. The site releases $1 of the bonus for every 27.5 Award Points you earn.

For a $100 bonus, you must earn 2750 Award Points.
ACR uses a weighted-contributed rake system, meaning rewards connect directly to the rake you generate as a player.

For stakes up to $1/$2 in cash games, the site collects $0.01 of rake for every $0.20 in the pot. For tournaments, they collect 10% of each buy-in, or $0.10 for every $1 in fees.

If you play cash games exclusively, you’ll need to participate in pots worth at least $2,000 to earn the necessary points to clear the bonus. For tournaments, you’ll need to enter buy-ins totaling $1,000 to clear your bonus.

Overall, this bonus is still +EV for all players. This is effectively a 5% rebate for cash game players and 10% for tournament players, and unlike casino games, you can earn it with consistent play.

Banking Methods at America’s Cardroom

ACR has a limited banking system and focuses primarily on cryptocurrency. Crypto is typically the best option for poker players due to its relatively high limits and fast withdrawal times.

Deposits

Crypto is the most practical option for many ACR players. You can use Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, USDC, and Tether. Crypto deposits start at $10 and cap at $25,000, much higher than traditional banking methods.

Credit cards are also supported, but you’ll pay a 10% processing fee on Visa deposits. If you know someone already playing at ACR, they can send you money via a person-to-person transfer for free.

Overall, I recommend players use crypto whenever possible to avoid fees and ensure a smooth banking process.

Withdrawals

Cryptocurrency is the fastest withdrawal option at ACR, with an average processing time of under one hour. Crypto withdrawals range from $50 to $10,000, with one payout permitted daily and up to five per week.

You can also cash out with a check, but it is not ideal. All checks have a steep $55 fee and a $100 minimum. Player-to-player is an option, but you’re limited to $350. I only use P2P if I am repaying a short-term loan from another player.

Poker players should know about a withdrawal condition before depositing. ACR’s terms require players to generate poker rake or tournament fees equal to at least 10% of their cumulative deposits before they can withdraw.

This rake requirement resembles a 1x rollover for many casino deposits. However, I don’t like this setup because some casual players may take a while to generate the required rakeback, especially in low-stakes cash games.

America’s Cardroom Mobile Experience

ACR offers desktop software for Windows and macOS, while mobile players can use its web app without any downloads. The mobile option works on supported Android and iOS devices, and casino and sports betting are available through browser-based instant play.

Not every poker feature translates equally to a smaller screen. Blitz Poker works especially well on mobile because its fast-fold structure eliminates much of the table management involved in conventional multi-tabling.

Players planning to grind several tournaments or cash tables simultaneously will still get more flexibility from the desktop client.

Safety and Security

ACR operates offshore rather than under a US state gaming regulator. The Anjouan Gaming Board, license #ALSI-202607066-FI2, licenses and regulates the site.

ACR blocks external assistance tools, aka solvers, and its software includes anti-collusion technology. The site also uses email-based two-factor authentication for withdrawals.

Responsible gambling settings let players restrict access to poker, casino, or sports products and permanently close their accounts.

Key protections include:

  • Email 2FA for withdrawals
  • Restrictions on prohibited External Assistance Tools
  • Anti-collusion measures
  • Player Protection at cash tables
  • Product-specific gambling restrictions
  • Permanent account closure
  • Responsible gambling support resources

Customer Support Overview

ACR offers customer support via an online support form, virtual assistant, and a help/FAQ portal. Players can find basic information in several ways, though the site lacks traditional telephone support like BetOnline.

Unfortunately, the virtual assistant doesn’t offer an option to connect with a live agent. Instead, an agent will follow up via email. For straightforward questions, the help center and virtual assistant work best. For account verification, withdrawals, or security issues, use direct support via the form or message the virtual assistant.

Nerd Note from our Nerd’s Notebook

If you want to play Stud or alternative games like PL Omaha Hi-Lo, expect stiffer competition. The options for mixed games remain limited, and you will regularly face experienced players, including some older Poker Hall of Famers who enjoy the site.

Final Verdict

America’s Cardroom stands out among offshore online poker rooms serving US players. The site provides one of the best platforms for serious poker players, while still welcoming new and casual players.

Tournaments are where the site excels, matching or exceeding many low-to-mid tier online poker rooms. The site offers more than $9 million in weekly guarantees and hosts major events like The Venom.

Low-cost satellites and tournament buy-ins range from just a few pennies to high-stakes events, providing options for almost every bankroll. Cash players will enjoy strong traffic, Blitz Poker, and several rewards programs tied directly to their volume.

While I like that the promotions offer weekly prizes and tournament entries, I would like to see more deposit bonuses and offers tailored to casual players.

There are drawbacks to playing. The offshore license does not provide the same protections as state-regulated US poker sites, and the mandatory 10% rake requirement on deposits may discourage occasional and lower-volume players.
Recommended for: Tournament grinders, regular cash-game players, crypto users, and players looking for one of the larger US-facing online poker communities.

Not recommended if: You want a US state-regulated poker room, primarily want to play casino games or sports, or want softer competition and anonymous tables.

Overall, I recommend America’s Cardroom primarily to players who are serious about their online poker.
