Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss is the Heisman favorite in the latest college football player prop odds after taking down LSU in Week 3. Miami QB Darian Mensah is hot on Chambliss’s tail, and they are the only two players with odds shorter than 4-1.

Chambliss and Mensah are a close one-two in the latest Heisman odds, but the Rebels’ QB is the consensus favorite. Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith is third, just ahead of Miami’s Malachi Toney, and has the best odds of any non-quarterback to win the Heisman this year.

Why Arch Manning Will Win the 2026 Heisman Trophy
Arch Manning opened the season near the top of the odds boards in Heisman betting markets. Despite starting 3-0, including a comeback win over then-#1 Ohio State, Manning’s odds have faded significantly.
For reference, Lucky Rebel had Manning at +850 to win the Heisman prior to the season. He had the second-best odds of any player, behind only Notre Dame’s CJ Carr (7-1). Manning is now listed at +1400 odds to win the Heisman.
Arch and the Longhorns are undefeated so far. Texas became the top-ranked team in the country by beating Ohio State in Week 2.
Through three games, Manning is averaging:

- 6.9 yards per attempt
- 2.3 passing TDs per game
- 139.3 passer rating
If Manning and company can hold on to the #1 ranking for the rest of the season, Arch will jump back to the top of the Heisman betting market
Texas’s tough schedule could be a blessing and a curse for Arch’s Heisman hopes. It will be tough to remain at the top of the rankings, with seven of their next nine games against ranked teams. However, beating tough teams will help prove Manning is worthy of the Heisman.
Who the Market Picks to Win the 2026 Heisman Trophy
Oddsmakers liked Arch in the preseason, but their attention has now turned to Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss. He moved to the top of Heisman markets after the Rebels took down LSU in Week 3.

Chambliss led Ole Miss to a great win over their former head coach, and his current odds reflect the public reaction to that victory. However, the Rebels’ remaining schedule has five ranked opponents, including #1 Texas and #2 Georgia.
The Rebels will likely be underdogs in many of those matchups. For instance, Lucky Rebel has Ole Miss as a +140 road underdog against #21 Florida in Week 4.
Chambliss and the Rebels do not need to go undefeated for Chambliss to win, but his odds will fade with each loss. Seven QBs have won the Heisman since 2017, and none of them had more than three losses on their regular-season record.

Voters Favor Quarterbacks
Heisman voters have a major bias toward the quarterback position. Eight of the last 10 Heisman winners have been QBs.
This is not a new trend, either. Since 1962, QBs have won 35 Heismans, nearly double the next closest (RBs, 20). The voters’ favoritism toward QBs is reflected in the betting odds, too, as 10 of the top 12 favorites are quarterbacks.
Consider Strength of Schedule
A strong schedule can be a double-edged sword for Heisman hopefuls. Candidates need to beat tough teams to earn voters’ attention. However, candidates can also sink their chances if they lose too many games.
The “Heisman Moment”
One of the toughest factors to nail down when betting on the Heisman is the “Heisman Moment.” While not an official criterion, every previous winner had at least one “Heisman Moment” in their winning season.
In other words, candidates need an unforgettable play or game to cement their case for the Heisman. Some candidates, such as Arch Manning (vs. Ohio State) and Trinidad Chambliss (vs. LSU), arguably already have theirs after major wins over top teams this season.
