The Nerd’s Verdict on the 2026 World Series

Here are my official picks for the 2026 World Series.

2026 World Series Winner

  • Verdict: Bet on Milwaukee to win
  • Best captured price: -172 at Lucky Rebel
  • Break-even probability: 63.24%
  • Target price: -200 or better odds
  • Primary risk: The Rays built momentum during their ALCS series win over the Guardians.
  • Confidence: Moderate – Milwaukee had the better regular-season record and won their series against Tampa Bay.

Milwaukee Brewers (-172)

The Brewers are the odds-on favorites, and I think they will win the World Series this year. Milwaukee was the best team in the regular season, winning 103 games. They also beat the Rays in two of their three regular-season games and went 55-26 at home.

Milwaukee will also have more than a week of rest before Game 1 and will have home-field advantage for the series.

Both teams have great pitching, but the Brewers have a deeper bullpen. That depth will matter the deeper the series goes. They can also gain a major edge if Jacob Misiorowski can overcome his postseason issues.

Misiorowski pitched 174.2 innings in the regular season and had a 1.80 ERA. His average ballooned to 3.24 in his 8.1 innings pitched this postseason. Misiorowski was named the starter for Game 1, so the Brewers need him to pitch well if they want to keep home field.

2026 World Series MVP

  • Verdict: Bet on William Contreras for MVP
  • Best captured price: +650 at BetUS
  • Break-even probability: 13.33%
  • Target price: +500 or better odds
  • Primary risk: Jake Bauers won NLCS MVP honors over Contreras.
  • Confidence: Moderate – Contreras has been more consistent this postseason, leading Milwaukee in hits (11) and HRs (3).

William Contreras Wins MVP (+650)

Both teams have strong pitching, so runs will be at a premium. With that in mind, I think William Contreras is a better bet for MVP than Jackson Chourio.

Chourio has five more at-bats, but Contreras has six more hits, and one more homer this postseason. Contreras (1.157) also has a much better OPS than Chourio (.553) in the playoffs so far.

Jake Bauer is also a major threat to win World Series MVP after he claimed NLCS MVP honors. Bauer had a strong series against the Dodgers, going 4-for-14 with one homer, six RBIs, and three walks.

As good as Bauers was, Contreras has had a better postseason overall and has been more consistent this season.

The Market’s Pick for the 2026 World Series

The market is picking Milwaukee to win the 2026 World Series and Brewers star left fielder Jackson Chourio as the World Series MVP.

Milwaukee (103-59) had the best regular-season record, giving them home-field advantage over Tampa Bay (98-64). The Brewers also beat the Rays twice in their three-game series in the spring.

Milwaukee made quick work of the two-time defending-champion Dodgers, giving them extra rest ahead of the Fall Classic. The extra rest could be key for players like Misiorowski, who have struggled this postseason.

For MVP, oddsmakers are backing Jackson Chourio. He was third on the team in hits (152) and second in home runs (25) during the regular season. Chourio only has six hits and two homers in the postseason, though, and lost out on NLCS MVP honors to 1B Jake Bauers.

Who Are Prediction Markets Picking in the 2026 World Series?

Traders at Polymarket are also bullish on the Brewers’ chances of winning their first World Series. At the time of writing, Polymarket gives Milwaukee a 62% chance of winning the 2026 World Series.

Polymarket World Series championship odds showing the Milwaukee Brewers at 62% and the Tampa Bay Rays at 38%.

Tampa Bay, on the other hand, is listed at 38%.

Polymarket also has Milwaukee listed at a 60% chance each to win Game 1 and Game 2 at home. They are favored on the road as well. The Brewers have a 50% chance to win Game 3 and a 55% chance to win Game 4.

Traders at Polymarket are backing William Contreras to win World Series MVP. Contreras has the highest chance of any player at 21%. Jacob Misiorowski has the next-best chance at 13%, with Jackson Chourio and Junior Caminero tied for third at 12% each.

World Series MVP prediction market showing William Contreras at 21%, Jacob Misiorowski at 13%, and Jackson Chourio and Junior Caminero at 12% each.

Here are three major factors and trends that will influence the 2026 Fall Classic.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher wearing number 26 celebrates with a clenched fist and his glove raised.

Brewers’ Late-Game Heroics

Milwaukee swept the Dodgers, but it was not easy. The Brewers had to come back in every game, and that experience should help them in the World Series. Milwaukee’s late-game heroics should keep them alive in every game.

Tampa Bay Rays players celebrate on the field, jumping and running toward teammates.

Both Teams Have Strong Bullpens

Milwaukee and Tampa Bay both have strong pitching rotations, but Jacob Misiorowski could be the key to this series. If he can put his postseason struggles behind him, Misiorowski would tip the scales in the Brewers’ favor. Milwaukee also has a deeper bullpen, which could help cover up Misiorowski’s issues.

Milwaukee Brewers players celebrate in the clubhouse, wearing goggles and spraying drinks.

Milwaukee’s Extra Rest

One of the biggest factors for this series is how much rest Milwaukee earned with its sweep of the Dodgers. The Brewers last played on October 15th, giving them over a week between games. Extra rest has been great for teams in recent years, with the last three teams that  swept their LCS series going on to win it all.

Tampa Bay, on the other hand, had a game delayed in its ALCS series against the Guardians. As a result, the Rays played three games in as many days before sealing the series on October 19th.

2026 World Series Predictions

The Milwaukee Brewers are the betting favorite, and I am backing them to win the 2026 World Series. Their extra rest, deep pitching staff, and home-field advantage will be enough to give the Brewers their first World Series win in franchise history.
