2025 PGA Championship Odds

Golfer | Odds to Win 2025 PGA Championship |
Rory McIlroy | +425 |
Scottie Scheffler | +500 |
Ludvig Åberg | +1300 |
Bryson DeChambeau | +1300 |
Xander Schauffele | +1400 |
Jon Rahm | +1800 |
Collin Morikawa | +1800 |
Justin Thomas | +2000 |
Viktor Hovland | +2500 |
Brooks Koepka | +3000 |
Just missing the cut for the top 10 in the current odds for the PGA Championship are Patrick Cantlay (+3300), Joaquin Niemann (+3300), Tommy Fleetwood (+3500), and Hideki Matsuyama (+3500).
The favorite heading into this year’s PGA Championship is Rory McIlroy. He won the 2025 Masters, finally completing his career grand slam. McIlroy has won this event twice before, but his last win was over a decade ago.
Scottie Scheffler is a close second to McIlroy at +500 odds to win the PGA Championship. After Scheffler, the odds start to fade quickly. Ludvig Åberg and Bryson DeChambeau are tied for the third-best odds at 13-1 each, and reigning champion Xander Schauffele rounds out the top five at +1400.
Rory McIlroy (+425)
Two-time PGA Championship winner Rory McIlroy is the +425 favorite at secure sports betting sites to win the tournament again this year. McIlroy won the Masters in a playoff against Justin Rose that instantly became a classic.
Despite completing his first career grand slam, McIlroy is a risky bet to win back-to-back majors. Since he last won the event in 2014, McIlroy has not finished better than seventh. He has only made the top 10 twice in his last five appearances.
This year’s course, the Quail Hollow Club, could cause issues for McIlroy. It is the first time the course has hosted the PGA Championship since 2017. McIlroy finished tied for 22nd place during that year’s event.
Scottie Scheffler (+500)
World No. Scottie Scheffler is a close second to McIlroy in the opening PGA Championship betting odds. Scheffler is listed at +500, marking the first time he has not opened as the favorite in a major in over a year.
A two-time Masters champion, Scheffler is still searching for his first win in the other three majors. His best finishes include runner-up finishes at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open in 2023 and 2022, respectively. He also set a personal best at the 2024 The Open Championship by finishing tied for seventh.
Despite never winning the event, Scheffler has finished in the top 10 in four of his five PGA Championship appearances. The lone exception was in 2022 when he missed the cut. It was just the third time in his 21 major appearances that Scheffler failed to make the cut.
Ludvig Åberg (+1300)
After McIlroy and Scheffler, the odds start to fade dramatically. Two players are tied for the third-best odds at +1300 each. The first is Ludvig Åberg, a Swedish golfer who is making just his second appearance in the PGA Championship.
Åberg has fared well in the Masters, finishing second and seventh in his first two appearances. The other majors have not been as kind to Åberg. He tied for 12th in his U.S. Open debut last year but failed to make the cut at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship.
On the bright side, Åberg did earn his second PGA Tour win this year, earning first at the 2025 Genesis Invitational in February. That win, plus another top-10 finish at Augusta, could give Åberg the momentum he needs to win his first major.
Bryson DeChambeau (+1300)
The other golfer listed at 13-1 odds to win the 2025 PGA Championship is Bryson DeChambeau. The controversial golf superstar has the highest odds of any member of the LIV Golf Tour.
DeChambeau finished second at last year’s PGA Championship before winning his second U.S. Open title. However, his performance in majors fell sharply, and he missed the cut at The Open Championship. His 2025 season is off to a hot start thanks to a career-best finish at the Masters, where he tied for fifth.
The PGA Championship has been one of DeChambeau’s least predictable events. He has three finishes in the top four so far in his career. However, in his other four appearances, DeChambeau has failed to make the top 30.
Xander Schauffele (+1400)
Xander Schauffele’s record-setting performance last year was enough to win him the 2024 PGA Championship. His aggregate of 263 and finish of 21 below par are both records for the tournament.
Schauffele also won his second major last year when he topped the field at The Open Championship. Despite winning two majors last year, Schauffele is only listed at 14-1 odds to repeat as the winner of the PGA Championship.
The last person to repeat as the winner of the PGA Championship was Brooks Koepka, who beat Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson by two strokes each in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Before his win last year, the best that Schauffele finished in this tournament was in 2020 when he tied for 10th place. He has also cut six of his eight PGA Championship appearances. Also, he has made the cut in 28 of his 31 majors.
When and Where is the 2025 PGA Championship
The upcoming PGA Championship is the next opportunity for golf’s biggest stars to add a major championship to their resume. So, when and where is the 2025 PGA Championship?
When is the 2025 PGA Championship?
This year’s PGA Championship will be the 107th edition of the tournament. It is scheduled to start on May 15th and run through the 18th.
Where is the 2025 PGA Championship?
For the first time since 2017, the PGA Championship will be played at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a 71-par course with Bermuda greens. The course was designed by George Cobb, and the current record, 61, was set by Rory McIlroy in 2015.
Who Can Play in the PGA Championship?
The four majors in golf attract the best players from around the world. However, only a select few are invited to play in each major. The 156 players in this year’s PGA Championship must qualify by meeting one of a variety of criteria, such as:
- Past winner of the PGA Championship
- Recent winners of other majors
- Leading 15 players in last year’s PGA Championship
- Top 20 players in the 2025 PGA Professional Championship
- Winners of other PGA Tour championships
This tournament is a part of the PGA Tour, the European Tour, and the Japan Golf Tour.
2025 PGA Championship Predictions
Rory McIlroy completed his first career grand slam with his win at the 2025 Masters. McIlroy is now the +425 favorite in the PGA Championship odds for 2025.
He holds the course record at Quail Hollow Club, but McIlroy has not won the PGA Championship in over a decade. Scottie Scheffler (+500) has the second-best odds and is overdue for a win in a major.
Scheffler is the top-ranked golfer in the world and was favored at every major in 2024. He won the Masters last year, becoming a two-time champion, but came up short at the other three majors. Scheffler will solidify his standing at the top of the world rankings with a win at Quail Hollow Club this year.
Sleeper
With over 150 participants, there are plenty of thrilling dark horse candidates to bet on to win the 2025 PGA Championship. My top sleeper for this year’s tournament is Justin Thomas (+2000).
Thomas has won this tournament twice before, earning the Wanamaker Trophy in 2017 and 2022. This is the first time the PGA Championship will be played at Quail Hollow Club since Thomas’s win in 2017. Thomas finished eight under par that year to win the first major of his career.
Returning to Quail Hollow Club could be exactly what Thomas needs to win his third career major. Also, he has made the cut in eight of his nine PGA Championship appearances, and he has finished in the top 10 four times.
