Jackpot side bets are usually avoided by players who want to minimize the house edge in blackjack. The added risk paid off for one lucky player at BetOnline, who won the 7-7-7 Diamond Jackpot side bet. Charles C., who is from Texas, claimed the progressive jackpot, which was over $250,000 at the time.

What is the Diamond Super 7’s Jackpot?

The Diamond Super 7’s Jackpot is a special promotion from BetOnline. It is only available in the site’s live dealer blackjack games. You can play for the jackpot on any blackjack game in the site’s Live Casino Red section.

There are three prize levels, but only a trio of diamond sevens wins the full jackpot.

3 Levels of Diamond Super 7’s Jackpot

The Diamond Super 7’s Jackpot promotion from BetOnline has three prize levels for players to compete for:

  • Mini prize = Any three 7s wins $100
  • Mid prize = Any three Red 7s wins $1,000
  • Grand prize = Three 7s of Diamonds wins the progressive jackpot

Also, players must secure their winning trio of sevens in their first three cards of a given hand. Players also need to wager $1 on the Diamond Super 7 side bet to qualify. Luckily, you can play multi-hand live dealer blackjack games to speed up the chase for your trio of sevens.

The mini and mid prizes for this promotion are credited to players’ accounts automatically after they are won. However, jackpot winners only receive their prize money after an official review by the casino.

How Did Charles C. Win the 7-7-7 Diamond Jackpot?

You can only win the Diamond Super 7’s Jackpot by placing the required $1 side bet and then getting three diamond sevens in the same hand. BetOnline member Charles C. did just that on July 20th, winning the full jackpot prize.

Based on the footage released by BetOnline, Charles was playing seven hands at once against the dealer’s Jack.

At the time of his win, Charles’s hands included:

  • Q-Q
  • 9-K
  • 8-A
  • 10-4
  • 7-7-7
  • 6-J
  • 7-3-Q

Many of his hands were already strong, but his trio of sevens is what secured Charles the jackpot. All three sevens were diamonds, qualifying Charles for the progressive jackpot grand prize.

It is lucky that he hit the jackpot, too, as the dealer’s undercard was a Queen, beating or pushing against his other six hands.

The house edge of side bets scares most players away, but Charles’s courage paid off. He won $250,459 for the improbable hand. After the win, BetOnline reseeded the jackpot at $90,021.
