LeBron James refused to meet with the Lakers’ leadership this offseason and is now set to enter free agency at the age of 41. Initial reports linked James to Golden State, and the Warriors were heavily favored to sign The King yesterday. However, after spending their money elsewhere, the Warriors are no longer favored, ceding the top spot to Cleveland.

LeBron James Next Team Odds

Here are the latest LeBron James next team odds as of July 1st, 2026, courtesy of BetOnline.

  • Cleveland Cavaliers (-150)
  • Golden State Warriors (+100)
  • Miami Heat (+500)
  • San Antonio Spurs (+1200)
  • Minnesota Timberwolves (+1800)
  • Detroit Pistons

According to reports, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer is willing to listen to pitches from every team, and BetOnline has odds on all 29 other franchises. The Grizzlies, Celtics, Jazz, and Pelicans are tied for the longest odds at +8000 each.

Cleveland Cavaliers (-150)

James is listed at -150 odds to sign up for a third stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was drafted by the Cavs first overall in 2003 and led Cleveland to the Finals in 2007. James left after the 2010 season but returned in 2014 and won a title with Cleveland in 2016.

The Cavs are back in contention, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals last season. James could be the veteran presence and third scoring option for the Cavs if he is willing to take the veteran minimum.

Golden State Warriors (+100)

Draymond Green turned down his player option, sparking rumors that Golden State was trying to recruit fellow Clutch Sports client LeBron James. The Warriors were heavy favorites on the first day of free agency, listed as high as -500 odds.

However, Golden State’s odds have faded to even-money after the team re-signed Kristaps Porziņģis to a two-year, $40 million contract extension. If the Warriors stick to their word and refuse to trade Jimmy Butler, they will not have the cap space to sign James to anything more than the vet minimum.

Miami Heat (+500)

Miami is another place that James is very familiar with. LeBron played with the Heat from 2010-2014, making the Finals all four years and winning two championships.

The Heat traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo in June, pairing the Greek Freak with Bam Adebayo. Signing James would give Miami a big three that could compete in a top-heavy Eastern Conference.
