The 2026 World Series of Poker is officially in the books, and Lucas Jumalon stands above the rest. Jumalon, who is just 22 years old, led the final table of the WSOP Main Event wire-to-wire and won the $10 million grand prize. The Washington state native secured his win on August 5th.
Lucas Jumalon Leads WSOP Final Table Wire-to-Wire
Lucas Jumalon, a breakout poker star, entered the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event final table with a massive chip lead. Jumalon had 194 million chips, over 100 million more than the next closest player, Rami Hammoud (79 million).
His massive lead over the other eight finalists helped Jumalon cruise to victory relatively easily. Jumalon led throughout the three days of play at the final table to earn the title of World Champion of Poker.
2026 WSOP Final Table Winning Hand
The field for the WSOP Main Event started with over 9,200 players, but only nine players made the final table. In the end, the tournament came down to a heads-up battle between Jumalon and Lauri Saaskilahti.
Saaskilahti, a Finnish poker player, was at a major disadvantage throughout the final table. He entered the final nine with the third-fewest total chips at 37.5 million. Despite his initial lack of funds, Saaskilahti was able to battle his way to a runner-up finish.
It took Jumalon 17 hands of heads-up play against Saaskilahti to win the event.
The final hand saw Jumalon, who had Ks-6d, force Saaskilahti all-in with As-7d. The board fell Jumalon’s way, going Js-8d-6s-6c-4d, and giving the 22-year-old trip 6s.
Saaskilahti lost and fell short of winning his first WSOP bracelet, but he still made history. His runner-up finish is the best ever finish by a Finnish-born player in the WSOP Main Event.
2026 WSOP Main Event Prizes
Jumalon is the second-youngest player to ever win the WSOP Main Event. So, it is not surprising that the $10 million cash is the largest win of his career. Jumalon is not the only player to cash in on the event, either.
The prizes for the top finishers of the 2026 WSOP Main Event include:
- Lucas Jumalon – $10 million
- Lauri Saaskilahti – $6 million
- Greg Mueller – $3.75 million
- Michael Gagliano – $2.75 million
- Han Feng – $2.25 million
The other finalists, including Rami Hammoud, Jamie Shaevel, Mario Boos, and Evagoras Evagorou, all won at least $1 million for making the final table.
