The best real money poker apps for Android let you play cash games and tournaments without being tied to your computer. However, you don’t always need an app to play poker on Android. Some poker rooms offer downloadable Android software, while others offer mobile poker through your browser.

We compared the Android experience at the poker rooms we already recommend, focusing on performance, controls, game selection, and how much of the desktop experience carries over to mobile.

Top Real Money Android Poker Apps

BetOnline and SportsBetting.ag are our top poker site choices if you specifically want downloadable Android poker software. ACR Poker, Ignition, and BetUS take a browser-based approach, giving Android users instant access without extra downloads.

BetOnline: Best Overall Real Money Poker App for Android

BetOnline offers a downloadable Android poker app, making it our top choice for players who want a traditional poker app. You can download it directly from the BetOnline poker page, with Android 7.0 or newer recommended for the current client.

The app provides access to the poker lobby, cashier, cash games, Sit & Gos, Windfall tournaments, and scheduled tournaments. Games include Texas Hold’em and Omaha, plus less common options like Pineapple Open Face Chinese Poker.

The interface is easy to navigate on Android, and there’s also an HTML5 browser version if you don’t want to install the software.

BetOnline currently offers new poker players a 100% first-deposit bonus up to $1,000. Like most poker bonuses, it is released through play rather than being immediately available as cash.

SportsBetting.ag: Best Alternative Downloadable Android App

SportsBetting.ag also offers a downloadable Android poker app with Android 7.0 or higher, with at least 2GB of RAM recommended. You can also play through its HTML5 mobile version, so you can install the client or play in your browser.

The poker product includes Texas Hold’em and Omaha cash games, along with a wide selection of Sit & Go tournaments, Windfall jackpot Sit & Go events, and traditional multi-table tournaments.

One advantage of the SportsBetting.ag app is that you can access the cashier and poker wallet from the mobile interface without logging in through your browser.

New players can claim a 100% poker deposit bonus up to $1,000. The bonus releases in $5 increments for every $50 in rake generated.

ACR Poker: Best Android Poker Site for Tournaments

ACR Poker is accessible on Android without an app. You can access the mobile poker site directly through your browser. You can also save the site to your home screen for faster access.

The biggest reason to play ACR is its tournament selection. The site regularly runs large tournament series and guarantees, while cash players can find Hold’em, Omaha, Stud variants, Blitz Poker, and other formats.

ACR’s mobile platform gives Android users a convenient way to play without installing another application, although I still prefer its desktop software for longer sessions and serious multi-tabling. A smaller screen isn’t as efficient when you’re trying to keep track of several tables.

New players can claim a 100% welcome bonus up to $2,000, the largest match bonus on this list.

Ignition: Best No-Download Android Poker Experience

Ignition Poker runs directly through your Android browser, with no additional download required. Log into your account, open Poker, and you can access the mobile lobby immediately.

Ignition Casino

The browser experience is one of the more complete mobile poker setups. Ignition supports Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo cash games, Zone Poker, scheduled tournaments, and Jackpot Sit & Gos. You can even play up to four cash or tournament tables simultaneously from a mobile device.

Ignition uses anonymous tables, preventing other players from building long-term histories about your play. This benefits recreational players concerned about being targeted by experienced players.

The current poker welcome offer provides 150% up to $1,500. For recreational players looking for a simple Android experience, Ignition is one of our favorite options.

BetUS: Best for Casual Tournament Players

BetUS doesn’t offer a downloadable Android app. Instead, its website is optimized for mobile browsers, so Android users can log in and access the current BetUS Poker platform directly from their phone.

The poker room differs significantly from the other sites on this list because it currently focuses on tournaments. BetUS lists daily events such as its $750 GTD Lunch Turbo, $2,500 GTD Prime Time and Late Night tournaments, a $5,000 guaranteed Weekly Main Event, and recurring freerolls.

Cash games are currently planned as an upcoming feature, but BetUS has not announced a launch date. That makes BetUS better suited to casual tournament players than someone looking for a traditional mobile cash-game grind.

The only real drawback is that the site does not offer a welcome bonus to poker players. BetUS provides broader account welcome offers covering its sportsbook and casino. For casual players who focus exclusively on tournaments, BetUS offers a laid-back environment that can prove a nice training ground.

How We Chose These Apps

When selecting the best poker sites for Android, we’re looking for more than whether the site will load on your phone. We focused on how well each room adapts to mobile devices.

Smooth Performance on Android

Poker requires fast decisions. We look for mobile platforms that load tables quickly and respond smoothly to betting actions.

three-arrows

Adaptive Controls for Varying Screen Sizes

Your hole cards, stack, pot size, action buttons, and betting controls must stay easy to see and use. A good Android platform should adapt the interface to a phone or tablet rather than shrink the desktop table.

Same Gameplay Features as Desktop

Mobile players shouldn’t have to settle for a stripped-down poker room. We favor sites that closely mirror the desktop version.

These aren’t the only factors we consider when recommending poker sites. We also evaluate game selection, bonuses, rake, traffic, banking, security, and other factors. You can learn more about the complete process in our How We Rank Gambling Sites guide.

App vs. Browser: Which Experience is Better?

Having tested both approaches, we don’t think a downloadable Android app automatically provides the better poker experience.

The biggest advantage of a dedicated app is convenience. BetOnline and SportsBetting.ag let you install their poker clients directly on your Android device, giving you an icon you can tap whenever you want to play.

There is a tradeoff. You can’t download these apps through Google Play, so they may not meet Google’s quality and security standards. Generally, apps directly from the poker room provider are considered safe, so always use the operator’s official poker page rather than downloading from a third-party APK site.

Browser poker is generally more secure. ACR and Ignition let you open their mobile poker rooms directly from your Android browser without installing additional software. You can also create a home-screen shortcut, making the experience much closer to opening a conventional app.

Browser software also updates automatically. You don’t have to worry about installing the latest version.

Performance ultimately matters more than delivery method. Ignition is a good example. Even without an Android download, you can play cash games, tournaments, Zone Poker, and Jackpot Sit & Gos while multi-tabling up to four games.

Desktop still wins in some situations. If you’re playing a single cash table or tournament while away from home, Android works well. If you’re trying to grind four or more tables for several hours, track multiple tournament lobbies, or make extensive use of poker software and other tools, the additional screen space and controls of a desktop computer are hard to replace.

Are Android Poker Apps for You?

Android poker has improved to the point where it is no longer just a backup for desktop play. For many players, it has become their main option for online poker because of its portability and convenience.

BetOnline and SportsBetting.ag are the best options if you prefer a downloadable Android poker app. Both also provide browser access, so you don’t have to use the installed software exclusively.

ACR Poker and Ignition show why an app isn’t essential. Their browser-based poker platforms give Android players access to most of the games and features they’ll actually use, with no installation necessary.

BetUS is more specialized. Its current poker platform is primarily tournament-based, making it an interesting option for casual MTT players but not for regular Android cash games.

For most players, the Android experience is excellent for playing one or two tables, jumping into a Sit & Go, or entering a tournament when you can’t sit at your computer. Serious grinders will still prefer desktop.

Ultimately, don’t choose a poker room simply because it has a downloadable Android app. Focus on the games, traffic, stakes, and tournaments you want to play. The best platforms provide the most robust and secure mobile poker experience. Pick the sites that meet your needs as a player over the delivery method.
