How Live Casino Hold’em Works

How Live Casino Hold’em Works

Much like digital Casino Hold’em, Live Casino Hold’em is based on basic Texas Hold’em poker. The difference is that you are playing against the house or the dealer’s hand. And in Live Casino Hold’em, the action is streamed to you live with a real dealer in an in-person casino setting. Here’s how the Fresh Deck Studio game goes:

  1. Place Your Bets: You place an ante bet to start the game. You also have the option of a bonus bet that rewards you if two aces come out in the first five cards. You’ll find the bet options displayed at the bottom of the screen, the rules and settings at the top, and a separate deal display on the left.
  2. Initial Deal: The dealer deals two cards for you and two down cards for themself. Then, three side-up community cards are dealt as the “flop.”
  3. Call or fold: From the initial five cards you see, you must decide whether to Call to continue playing for two more cards or Fold to surrender your bet. A Call bet is double the amount of the Ante. If you choose to fold, you lose your ante wager, and a new game begins.
  4. Deal Turn and River: If you call, the dealer deals the fourth and final community cards (“turn” and “river”).
  5. Reveal Hands: The dealer then reveals their two down cards, and you compare your best five-card poker hands using the hole cards and the five community cards.
  6. Dealer Qualification: The dealer must have a pair of 4s or better to qualify. You win if the dealer does not qualify; your Ante bet is paid according to your hand and the paytable, and your call bet is returned to you.
  7. Payouts: If the dealer qualifies and you win, the Ante pays according to the paytable, and the Call bet pays 1:1. If the dealer qualifies and you lose, you lose the Ante and Call bets.

You can play Live Casino Hold’em on your phone. I suggest trying with your mobile device and connection because it is essentially interactive TV streaming. The screen format may not suit your smaller phone.

How do I know if the dealer is not cheating?

Answer

You know if the dealer is not cheating by observing, just as you would at a normal casino. Each hand is dealt from a standard 52-card deck, and everything is on camera. The dealers are usually well-trained pros.

You need to know some poker strategy to play Live Casino Hold’em. There is no bluffing or other common poker head-to-head tactics. I generally Call if one of my hole cards is a King or better, or if I have four to an outside straight or flush.

Responsible Gambling

The most important tip in gambling is to gamble responsibly. That means practices such as setting aside a reasonable gambling budget and sticking to it. Don’t bet more than you can afford; don’t chase losses by doubling your next bet; and know that there is no such thing as a sure thing. Follow our smart-wagering guidelines and read the valuable information from these good-gambling organizations:

Summary

Live Casino Hold’em casinos can be fun destinations for a game that offers lots of excitement, simple strategy, and a player return that ranks up there with blackjack.

Plus, the easy-to-play streaming format puts you in a casino atmosphere with a real dealer. I have Live Casino Hold’em on my short list of favorite games and recommend you give it a try. Choose from one of our top sites, and take a stroll over to the Live Casino Hold’em table. There’s always an open seat.
