2025 WNBA Mock Draft Based on Betting Odds
UConn’s Paige Bueckers has been at the top of 2025 WNBA mock drafts since she decided to return to the Huskies for another season. After finally winning a championship in college, Bueckers is finally ready to join the pros.
Bueckers is a lock to go number one, so the real WNBA mock draft starts at number two. This guide will use the latest odds from top basketball betting sites to explain the first five picks in my WNBA mock.
WNBA Draft Order 2025
A massive four-team trade shook up the WNBA this offseason. Satou Sabally was traded from the Dallas Wings to the Phoenix Mercury, Alyssa Thomas was shipped from Connecticut to Phoenix, and Sophie Cunningham will join Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
Kelsey Plum also has a new home in LA after the Las Vegas Aces agreed to a three-team trade with the Sparks and the Seattle Storm.
After an offseason full of moves, the first round of the 2025 WNBA Draft looks like this:
- 1st pick: Dallas Wings
- 2nd pick: Seattle Storm (via LA Sparks)
- 3rd pick: Washington Mystics (via Chicago Sky)
- 4th pick: Washington Mystics
- 5th pick: Golden State Valkyries
- 6th pick: Washington Mystics (via Atlanta Dream)
- 7th pick: Connecticut Sun (via New York Liberty)
- 8th pick: Connecticut Sun (via Indiana Fever)
- 9th pick: LA Sparks (via Seattle Storm)
- 10th pick: Chicago Sky (via Connecticut Sun)
- 11th pick: Minnesota Lynx
- 12th pick: Dallas Wings (via New York Liberty)
Dallas won the Paige Bueckers sweepstakes, but the Wings are not the only franchise that will be invested in this year’s draft. Washington has three of the top six picks and can add plenty of young talent. The Golden State Valkyries will also make their first draft pick at number five overall.
2025 WNBA Mock Draft
One of the best ways to make a WNBA mock draft in 2025 is to base your picks on the latest odds at secure sports betting sites. Here are my predictions for the top five picks in this year’s WNBA draft.
Pick 1: Paige Bueckers, UConn Huskies
- Paige Bueckers (-20000)
- Dominique Malonga (+10000)
- Sonia Citron (+10000)
- Kiki Iriafen (+10000)
UConn’s Paige Bueckers is a -20000 favorite at BetUS to be the first pick in this year’s draft. Barring an unforeseen trade, Bueckers will end up in Dallas on Monday.
Women’s College Basketball needed a new star to fill the void left by Caitlin Clark. Bueckers, a star in her own right, not only stepped up, she one-upped Clark by winning the National Championship.
Paige “Buckets” played 123 games for the Huskies, averaging the following throughout her five-year career:
- 32.0 MPG
- 19.8 PPG
- 4.7 RPG
- 4.5 APG
- 53.1% FG%
- 42.3% 3P%
Bueckers can score, but she is not on the same level offensively as Clark. On the other hand, Paige’s defense will help her make an immediate impact in year one.
Dallas does not need Bueckers to take over from game one, even though the Wings have struggled to be a contender since they left Detroit after the 2009 season. Dallas also traded away Forward Satou Sabally but received Guard DiJonai Carrington in the four-team deal.
Bueckers can learn from Carrington, who averaged 12.7 PPG in 29.6 MPG last year for the Sun. Guard Arike Ogunbowale, the Wings’ leading scorer last year with 22.2 PPG, will also be a great resource for Bueckers.
Pick 2: Dominique Malonga, LDLC ASVEL Féminin
- Dominique Malonga (-200)
- Sonia Citron (+175)
- Kiki Iriafen (+1000)
- Shyanne Sellers (+2000)
- Georgia Amoore (+4000)
- Paige Bueckers (+4000)
After Bueckers, the Draft becomes significantly less clear. Olivia Miles, who spent four years at Notre Dame, was a popular pick in mock WNBA drafts. Miles has played her last game for the Fighting Irish, but she chose to enter the transfer portal and play a fight-year of college hoops, joining TCU for the 2025-2026 season.
Even before Miles announced her decision, she was sliding on draft boards in favor of Dominique Malonga. Malonga has become a player to watch in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The 19-year-old French Forward-Center stands at 6’6” and has been part of ASVEL Féminin since 2021.
Malonga helped France win the bronze in the FIBA Under-17 World Cup in 2022. Then, at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she helped France take home the silver medal. Malonga followed up that performance by helping Lyon make it to the EuroCup Women 2025 semifinals.
Seattle currently holds the number two pick after a three-team trade with the Sparks and the Aces. The Storm’s decision will likely be between Malonga and Notre Dame Guard Sonia Citron.
Citron is talented, but she was the third-best Guard on Notre Dame last year. Malonga, on the other hand, is younger and would give the Storm a size advantage against most other starting lineups in the WNBA.
Pick 3: Sonia Citron, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
- Sonia Citron (-150)
- Dominique Malonga (+150)
- Kiki Iriafen (+500)
- Shyanne Sellers (+3000)
- Georgia Amoore (+3000)
- Aneesah Morrow (+3000)
Speaking of Citron, the former Notre Dame Guard is a -150 favorite to be the third overall pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft. Citron’s odds of being a top pick improved significantly after her former teammate, Olivia Miles, opted for a fifth year of college basketball.
The Mystics own the third, fourth, and sixth picks in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Washington drafted Aaliyah Edwards in the first round last year, but they desperately need to build around their young star.
Ariel Atkins, the team’s leading scorer last year, was traded to Chicago this offseason. With Atkins in Chi-Town, that leaves Brittney Sykes and Shakira Austin as the only players on the Mystics to average double digits last year. Atkins was also tied for the second-most assists on the team with 3.1 APG.
Citron averaged 14.3 PPG during her four years at Notre Dame. Last year, she tied her career-high with 2.7 APG. She also averaged 1.8 steals, which will be helpful as Atkins was the Mystics’ leading stealer with 1.5 SPG.
Pick 4: Kiki Iriafen, USC Trojans
- Kiki Iriafen (+125)
- Shyanne Sellers (+250)
- Aneesah Morrow (+250)
- Sonia Citron (+800)
- Georgia Amoore (+1400)
- Dominique Malonga (+3300)
Washington also has the fourth pick and could take one of the top Forwards in the draft to pair with Edwards and Citron. Kiki Iriafen is the +125 favorite to be drafted fourth overall.
Iriafen is 6’3 and would immediately be tied as the third-tallest player on the Mystics. Edwards and Sika Kone, who are both Forwards, are also 6’3. Washington plans to build around Edwards, but Kone has struggled to secure playing time.
Kone averaged 16.0 MPG last year, nearly double her career average of 8.6 MPG. She also averaged a career-best 8.6 PPG. However, she has played for three teams in her three-year career and has never started a game.
Iriafen may not replace Kone immediately, but she is too good of a talent for the Mystics to pass up. She averaged 18.0 PPG and 8.4 RPG last year and will be a threat on both ends of the floor for Washington.
Pick 5: Aneesah Morrow, LSU Tigers
- Aneesah Morrow (+200)
- Shyanne Sellers (+200)
- Kiki Iriafen (+200)
- Georgia Amoore (+600)
- Sonia Citron (+2200)
- Dominique Malonga (+3300)
Golden State, the newest expansion team in the WNBA, will make their first-ever draft pick this year.
Aneesah Morrow is tied for the best odds to be Golden State’s first draft pick at +200. Shyanne Sellers and Kiki Iriafen are also listed at 2-1 odds. However, I have Iriafen going to Washington at pick number four.
Sellers is a talented Guard, but the Valkyries have plenty of depth at the position, including veteran Tiffany Hayes and fan-favorite Kate Martin.
Golden State does not have anyone on its roster who has averaged double-digits in their regular season careers. Morrow averaged 20.5 PPG in her four years in college. She also collected 12.3 RPG during her collegiate career.
To make her stats even more impressive, Morrow is only 6’1. She may be undersized for the position, but Morrow’s productivity is exactly what the Valkyries need out of their first pick in franchise history.
