UFC Fight Night Main Event Odds – Lewis vs. Teixeira
See the table below for the latest UFC Fight Night odds for Lewis vs. Teixeira. BetUS provided the following odds.
Fighter | UFC Fight Night Odds | Record |
---|---|---|
Derrick Lewis | +214 | 28-12 |
Tallison Teixeira | -260 | 8-0 |
Lewis has been a mainstay in the UFC Heavyweight division for years. His power makes him a threat to anyone. However, “The Black Beast” is a +214 underdog for his matchup against the up-and-comer Tallison Teixeira (-260).
Teixeira is 8-0, with seven knockouts and one submission win so far in his professional career. He earned his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. Teixeira made his Octagon debut at UFC 312, knocking out Justin Tafa in just 35 seconds.
Derrick Lewis (+214)
Lewis is 2-1 in his last three fights, including a third-round knockout win over Rodrigo Nascimento in his last appearance. However, since beating Curtis Blaydes in February 2021, Lewis is only 3-5 in the Octagon.
To make matters worse, only one of Lewis’s last five losses came by decision. His other recent defeats include three knockouts and one submission loss.
On the bright side, Lewis has proven he still has the power to knock out anyone in the division. He is 19-10 in the UFC, with 15 of his wins coming via knockout.
His last five wins have all come via knockout, including his win over Marcos Rogério de Lima at UFC 291. Lewis earned his win over Rogério de Lima just 33 seconds into the opening round of the fight.
Tallison Teixeira (-260)
The other half of the main event for this Fight Night event is the 8-0 Tallison “Xicão” Teixeira. He made his UFC debut in February, stopping Justin Tafa in 35 seconds.
Teixeira, who is just 25 years old, has a 100% finish rate in his career. Also, all eight of his wins have come in the first round. His knockout power has allowed Teixeira to rise up the ranks quickly, and he is in the main event in just his second UFC appearance.
A veteran like Lewis will be a tough test for Teixeira. He will be the first opponent in Teixeira’s career with more than 20 fights. Only two of Teixeira’s previous eight opponents had more than 10 fights at the time they faced Xicão.
Lewis’s experience gives him an undeniable advantage over Teixeira. On the other hand, the younger fighter has a massive size advantage over Lewis. Teixeira is 6’7 and has an 83” reach, compared to Lewis, who stands at 6’3 with a 79” reach.
Lewis vs. Teixeira Predictions
Jon Jones has retired, and Tom Aspinall has been promoted to the Undisputed Heavyweight champion. Now, Aspinall needs new challenges for the most coveted belt in the UFC.
The ninth-ranked Lewis has challenged for the belt before, and Teixeira has all the makings of a future star. Whichever fighter wins this main event fight on July 12th could put themselves on the short list of challengers for Aspinall’s belt.
Teixeira has dominated his opponents so far in his short career. However, Lewis will be the biggest test the young heavyweight has ever faced.
I believe Lewis will end Teixeira’s first-round finishing streak. However, the veteran gatekeeper will not be able to stop Teixeira’s momentum completely. Teixeira will win, moving to 9-0 and potentially earning a spot in the top 15.
- Prediction: Derrick Lewis +214

Morgan Charrière (-240) vs. Nate Landwehr (+198)
The main card for the upcoming UFC Fight Night in Nashville opens with a Featherweight bout between Morgan Charrière and Nate Landwehr. Charrière (20-11-1) is the -240 favorite for this bout. Landwehr (18-6) is listed as a +198 underdog.
Both fighters are coming off a loss. Charrière earned a 6-3 record in Cage Warriors, but is just 2-2 so far in the UFC. Likewise, Landwehr has also struggled since joining the promotion and is just 5-4 in the Octagon.
Charrière is the smaller fighter, but he has only been finished once in his professional career. I think he will beat Landwehr in a striking-heavy matchup and improve to 3-2 in the UFC.
- Prediction: Morgan Charriére -240
Junior Tafa (-170) vs. Tuco Tokkos (+142)
Up next is a Light Heavyweight fight between Junior Tafa (6-3) and Tuco Tokkos (10-5). Despite having a four-inch reach advantage, Tokkos is a +142 underdog against Tafa (-170) in this matchup.
Tafa has experience in boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. He was 4-0 in MMA when he joined the UFC but is 2-3 in the Octagon. Tokkos also favors striking and has six knockouts in his 10 career wins. However, Tokkos is a combined 0-4 in the UFC and Bellator.
Tokkos’s struggles in the big leagues will continue against Tafa. This will be a good test for both fighters, but Tafa, who is dropping down a weight class, will be the one to right the ship and get the win in Nashville.
- Prediction: Junior Tafa -170
Steve Garcia (-150) vs. Calvin Kattar (+126)
Steve Garcia is a -150 favorite in his Featherweight matchup against Calvin Kattar (+126). Garcia started his UFC career with a 1-2 record but has now won five straight in the Octagon. Kattar, conversely, brings a four-fight losing streak into this matchup.
A fifth straight loss could end Kattar’s stint in the UFC, so he has plenty of motivation to win this fight. Beating Garcia is easier said than done, though. He has knocked out his opponent in 14 of his 17 career wins.
Kattar has 10 KO wins on his resume, so he can hold his own on the feet. However, it has also been over five years since Kattar’s last knockout win. With that in mind, I give the edge to Garcia in this fight.
- Prediction: Steve Garcia -150
Vitor Petrino (-700) vs. Austen Lane (+475)
Heavyweight Vitor Petrino is the biggest favorite on the main card of UFC Fight Night Nashville. He is a -700 favorite in his fight against Austen Lane (+475).
Petrino (11-2) has lost back-to-back fights, but both of those defeats came at Light Heavyweight. Lane is 1-3-1 so far in his UFC career, and his only victory in the Octagon so far was a decision win over Robelis Despaigne.
Moving up in weight should benefit Petrino, but he will be at a significant size disadvantage against Lane. Also, before coming to the UFC, Lane was a promising Heavyweight prospect. I think he will live up to his potential and have Petrino his third consecutive loss.
- Prediction: Austen Lane +475
Gabriel Bonfim (-400) vs. Stephen Thompson (+309)
The co-main event of this UFC Fight Night card is a Welterweight showdown between Stephen Thompson (17-8-1) and Gabriel Bonfim (17-1). Top sports betting sites list Bonfim as a -400 favorite over the veteran Thompson (+309).
Thompson quickly rose up the Welterweight ranks in the mid-2010s, earning a title shot against then-champion Tyron Woodley. However, after going 0-1-1 in his two fights with Woodley, Thompson has struggled to regain his momentum. He is 4-6 in his 10 fights since losing to Woodley in their rematch at UFC 209.
Bonfim, conversely, is 4-1 so far in the promotion. A win over a well-respected veteran like Thompson, who is currently ranked 12th in the division, will propel Bonfim into the top 15 and move him one step closer to a title shot.
- Prediction: Gabriel Bonfim -400
