Fans of the popular game Plinko have a new title to sink their teeth into, Sugar Plinko by BGaming. The game, which is set in a carnival, was released today, September 1st. In addition to a sweet theme, Sugar Plinko lets players adjust the game to their comfort level and offers a maximum win of 10,000x.
Sugar Plinko By the Numbers
Plinko is one of the most popular casino games, and BGaming has a history of creating high-quality Plinko titles. Adding to its catalog of great Plinko games is Sugar Plinko, a carnival-themed game with adjustable lines, respins, and more.
The important stats to know before trying Sugar Plinko are:
- RTP: 97.00%
- Volatility: Low
- Max multiplier: 10,000x
BGaming lists the RTP at 97%, but the in-game menu says the expected return is between 96.51% and 96.92%.
It has a low volatility rating, but you can adjust the number of lines to increase your potential win at the cost of lowering your chances of winning. You can also adjust the risk level for a chance at bigger wins.
The smallest board has eight lines and a max win of 4x, not counting bonus multipliers. Thrill-seeking players can use a board with 16 lines at the maximum risk level for a shot at 2,500x multipliers.
You can also drop multiple balls at once, up to 100, to maximize the number of rounds you can play per hour. There are three special features, multipliers, multiplier balls, and respins, that can be triggered with the Buy Feature.
Multipliers
In addition to the multipliers at the bottom of the board, there will occasionally be multipliers on the board itself. If the ball hits these multipliers as it falls, the multiplier is automatically added to your prize at the end.
Multiplier Ball
Sugar Plinko also features a Multiplier Ball bonus. When triggered, it applies a 2x to 4x multiplier to the next ball released, guaranteeing a bigger win for the player when it reaches the bottom of the board.
Respins
Respins are common in online slots, but Sugar Plinko offers a new twist on the mechanic. When activated, some of the holes at the end of the board are replaced with respin portals. If the ball falls into these portals, it will fall down the board again. However, when it falls this time, it will have the multiplier of the hole that was replaced by the respin portal.
How This Impacts Players
Sugar Plinko adds popular slot elements, such as respins, to the classic Plinko game. These innovations help reinvent the well-known casino game by adding new twists. Some features can be costly, though, as increasing volatility and risk can lower the RTP of your session.
GamblingNerd Take
I tested Sugar Plinko to see how it compares to other new releases. To get the full experience, played at all three risk levels and tried multiple grid alignments. Also, I kept my bet amount at $1 per ball to ensure my tests were fair throughout.
For my first test, I used an 8-line grid at the lowest-risk level. I was able to hit the 4x multiplier a few times but ultimately finished the 100 rounds down $3.30. My $96.70 return on the $100 I spent does align closely with the reported RTP of Sugar Plinko.
Next, I tried a medium-risk betting system, playing with 12 lines at the second risk level. This increased the maximum win to 75x but lowered the smallest multiplier to just 0.3x. I landed a few 3.3x multipliers, but most of the balls landed in multipliers under 1.0x, and I never hit a 10x or 75x pocket, and I finished down $25.
Finally, I played 100 rounds at the highest risk level using 16 lines. In this session, I landed one 21x multiplier, but it was not enough to make up for all the losing rounds. I won $82.20 on $100 spent, resulting in a net loss of $17.80.
