2025-2026 NFL MVP Odds and Predictions
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson leads all players in the current 2025 NFL MVP odds ahead of the start of the regular season. Jackson has two MVP awards already and finished second in voting last season after closing as the betting favorite.
In this guide, I will break down the updated NFL MVP odds for the top contenders. I analyze each player’s path to the MVP and give my pick for the award.
2025 NFL MVP Odds
Here are the latest MVP odds for the 2025 NFL season, courtesy of Bovada, a top NFL betting site.
Player | 2025 NFL MVP Odds | Player | 2025 NFL MVP Odds |
---|---|---|---|
Lamar Jackson | +500 | Josh Allen | +600 |
Joe Burrow | +630 | Patrick Mahomes | +650 |
Jayden Daniels | +900 | Jordan Love | +1800 |
Brock Purdy | +2000 | Jared Goff | +2000 |
Jalen Hurts | +2500 | Justin Herbert | +2500 |
Matthew Stafford | +2500 | Baker Mayfield | +3000 |
C.J. Stroud | +3000 | Saquon Barkley | +3500 |
Dak Prescott | +4000 | Michael Penix Jr. | +4000 |
Unsurprisingly, the preseason NFL MVP 2025 odds are dominated by quarterbacks. The last non-quarterback to win regular-season MVP was running back Adrian Peterson in 2012. Every player in the top 10 of the current MVP odds is a quarterback.
Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley has the best odds of any non-quarterback to win the award. He is listed at 35-1 for the 13th-best odds.

Lamar Jackson (+500)
Lamar Jackson played at an MVP level last year but fell just short of winning the award for the third time in his career. Despite being named the First Team All-Pro quarterback, Jackson finished second in MVP voting.
Jackson was the first quarterback to earn First-Team All-Pro honors and lose the MVP race to another QB since 2003.
Despite not winning MVP, Jackson still put impressive numbers last year, including:
- 41 passing touchdowns (T-2nd)
- 4 interceptions (2nd fewest among QBs with min. 10 starts)
- 4,172 passing yards (6th)
- 66.7% completion percentage
Jackson also added 915 yards and four touchdowns with his legs last year. In addition to coming in second in MVP voting, Jackson was the runner-up for Offensive Player of the Year.
Josh Allen (+600)
The reigning MVP, Josh Allen, is listed at 6-1 odds to repeat as the league’s most valuable player. Allen led the Bills to yet another AFC East title and the second overall seed in the conference.
Buffalo made it to the AFC Championship Game but lost once again in the semi-annual playoff matchup with Kansas City.
Allen helped the Bills to a 13-4 record, racking up the following stats along the way:
- 28 passing TDs
- 6 interceptions
- 3,731 passing yards
- 63.6% completion percentage
Allen trailed Jackson in every meaningful passing category but still won the MVP. Last year was also the first time since 2019 that Allen had fewer than 4,000 yards passing in a season.
Joe Burrow (+630)
Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow was arguably the best quarterback in the NFL last season. Burrow racked up impressive numbers in 2024, including:
- 43 passing TDs
- 9 INTs
- 4,918 passing yards
- 70.6% completion percentage
The Bengals’ QB led the NFL in passing TDs and passing yards. Burrow also helped his former college teammate Ja’Marr Chase win the wide receiver triple crown.
However, the Bengals’ defense could not hold up its end of the bargain, and the team finished 9-8, missing the playoffs.
Burrow may have won MVP if Cincinnati had made the postseason. If he can put up similar numbers this season, it will be challenging for voters to deny giving Burrow the MVP.
Patrick Mahomes (+650)
Patrick Mahomes led KC to a 15-2 record and the top seed in the AFC last year. One of the Chiefs’ losses last year came in Week 18, when several starters, including Mahomes, sat out. He only lost one game last year, but Mahomes finished sixth in MVP voting.
Mahomes is listed at +650 to win his third MVP award this season.
Kansas City’s quarterback posted the following numbers in 2024:
- 26 passing TDs
- 11 interceptions
- 3,928 passing yards
- 67.5% completion percentage.
Last year was the first time in Mahomes’s career as a starter that he did not post at least 4,000 passing yards. He also tied a career low in passing TDs as a starter.
Mahomes’s decline in production can largely be attributed to injuries and the lack of weapons on offense. Also, the Chiefs’ defense dominated opponents last year, so Mahomes was not asked to do much.
Jayden Daniels (+900)
Reigning Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels finished seventh in MVP voting last year. He is listed at 9-1 odds to win MVP this season and has the best odds of any player in the NFC.
Daniels started all 17 games for Washington, leading the Commanders to the NFC Championship game. He posted these numbers during his impressive rookie campaign:
- 25 passing TDs
- 9 interceptions
- 3,568 passing yards
- 69.0% completion percentage
He also had 891 rushing yards and six rushing scores in his breakout rookie year. To make matters more impressive, Daniels played through a rib injury for much of last season.
If Daniels can improve on his rookie numbers, he will be a true MVP contender. However, as we saw with CJ Stroud last year, avoiding a sophomore slump is easier said than done. Teams have plenty of tape on Daniels now, and his top receiver, Terry McLaurin, is holding out for a new contract.
Dark Horse Contenders
Betting on dark horse MVP contenders is one of the easiest ways to make the entire NFL season more exciting. Here are three MVP sleepers to consider wagering on for the 2025-2026 season.
Jalen Hurts (+2500)
Jalen Hurts won Super Bowl 59 MVP after leading the Eagles to a 40-22 win over the Chiefs. However, Hurts did not earn a single regular-season MVP vote last year.
Much of the Eagles’ success last year was, rightfully, attributed to Saquon Barkley. If the Eagles are similarly successful this year, Hurts will likely receive more MVP attention. Even if Barkley is the driving force of the offense once again, Hurts is the quarterback and will get more of the credit, à la Dak Prescott in the 2016 RotY race.
Saquon Barkley (+3500)
Speaking of Barkley, the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year is listed at 35-1 odds to win MVP in 2025. Barkley racked up over 2,000 rushing yards last season and finished third in MVP voting.
History suggests that Barkley will not come close to the production he had last year. Even getting 1,500 rushing yards would set a new mark for the most yards after a 2k-yard season. If Barkley does become the first player with multiple 2,000-yard rushing seasons, voters would have to give him the MVP.
Travis Hunter (+10000)
Jim Brown became the first rookie to win NFL MVP in 1957. No rookie has achieved the feat since. Two-way college star Travis Hunter is listed at +10000 odds to do it this year.
Hunter is tied with fellow former Buffalo Shedeur Sanders, as well as Anthony Richardson, Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, and Justin Fields.
No wide receiver or cornerback has ever won MVP. If Hunter can be a two-way player in the NFL, though, he could be the first to do it.
Best Value Bets at Current Odds
Josh Allen’s MVP win was controversial, so he would have to dominate the competition to win back-to-back MVPs. Likewise, despite impressive stats, Lamar Jackson’s continuing postseason struggles will cost him with voters, fair or not.
Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels both received MVP votes last year. As QBs, they already have a leg up on the other positions. With that in mind, I think Burrow (+630) and Daniels (+900) offer the most value as MVP futures this season.
Our Prediction for 2025 MVP
Only one player, most likely a quarterback, can reign supreme in this year’s MVP voting. The latest 2025 NFL MVP odds favor Lamar Jackson (+500), but I think it will be a different AFC North quarterback claiming the award this year.
Joe Burrow (+630) has the third-best odds and would have made a serious push for MVP last year if Cincinnati had made the playoffs.
With Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins healthy and under contract, I think Burrow and company will light up defenses again this season. Repeating as the passing yards and passing TD king will go a long way toward helping Burrow win MVP.
- Prediction: Joe Burrow +630
