The preseason is officially in the books, making this the perfect time to wager on your NFL Week 1 predictions. You can wager on all 16 games for opening weekend, including the 13 games scheduled for the first Sunday of the NFL season.

Keep reading to see the current odds for every matchup of the first week of the 2025 season. I will also highlight my top NFL predictions for Week 1 and break down my favorite bets.

All eyes will be on Philadelphia for the season opener against Dallas. The Micah Parsons’ contract situation only makes the first game of the year even more of a must-see.

Other high-profile divisional matchups in Week 1 include Chiefs at Chargers in Brazil, Bengals at Browns, and Lions at Packers. The first Sunday of the season closes with a playoff rematch between the Ravens and the Bills in Buffalo.

Betting Picks & Predictions

Let’s take a closer look at the latest odds for the best NFL Week 1 games, courtesy of Bovada.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Philly is a 6.5-point favorite in the season opener against the Cowboys. Dallas started 3-5 last season before quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury.

Prescott is back, and the Cowboys traded for George Pickens this offseason. However, they could be without star pass rusher Micah Parsons. If Parsons sits out, then Dallas has no chance of containing the Eagles.

Even if Parson plays, the Eagles will win at home on banner night. However, should Parson suit up, the line will move, so I recommend waiting to bet on Philly’s point spread until the value improves.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Another highly anticipated matchup for Week 1 is the AFC West showdown taking place on Friday in Brazil. The Chiefs are 3.0-point favorites heading into their international game against the Chargers. Los Angeles is the designated home team, but is listed as +150 moneyline underdogs.

Kansas City was embarrassed in Super Bowl 59, but they have dominated the AFC West during the Patrick Mahomes Era. Mahomes is 10-2 against the Chargers in his career.

Neither team scored over 20 points in either matchup last year. With that in mind, I think the Chiefs will win and cover -3.0, but the teams will not cover the points total of 45.5.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns

Joe Burrow and the Bengals have plenty to prove in their season opener, even against a lowly team like the Browns. Burrow is 3-5 against Cleveland and has a 1-4 record in Week 1.

Despite a poor track record early in the year, Burrow and company are 6.0-point road favorites in Cleveland. The Browns are +220 moneyline favorites in their home opener. Bovada lists the total score at over/under 46.5 points.

Cleveland is a bad team, but they have had Burrow’s number more often than not. The Browns’ defensive line also has a major advantage at the line of scrimmage. Cleveland may not win, but I think they will cover against the Bengals in game one.

Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers

The Lions battled through injuries to earn a 15-2 record and the top seed in the NFC last season. However, the storybook season ended with a crushing loss in their first playoff game. To make matters worse, the Lions lost their offensive and defensive coordinators.

It would have been challenging enough for Detroit to repeat its success if it had retained its coordinators. With that in mind, I think the Packers will get their first win over the Lions since 2023.

Green Bay is the -135 favorite at home for this NFC North matchup. They are also listed at -110 to cover the 2.0-point spread. The spread offers slightly better value, and Green Bay is a good bet to win by at least a field goal.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills

Rounding out my NFL Week 1 predictions in 2025 is the playoff rematch between Baltimore and Buffalo. The Ravens blew out the Bills last year in Baltimore, but Buffalo evened the score in the playoffs.

Buffalo has a great homefield advantage, and they needed all of it in their 27-25 win over the Ravens in January. Despite being at home, the Bills are only favored by a point in this matchup.

The good news for Buffalo is that Baltimore, much like Cincinnati, has a habit of starting slow. Baltimore started 0-2 last season, and they are just 4-4 in the first two games of the season in the previous four years. The Ravens are also just 1-2 in their last three Week 1 road games.

Buffalo will win and cover the 1.0-point spread in the first Sunday night game of the season.
