2025 NBA MVP Odds
| Player | NBA MVP Award Odds | 2024-25 MVP Voting Results |
|---|---|---|
| Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) | +225 | 1st |
| Nikola Jokic (DEN) | +225 | 2nd |
| Luka Doncic (LAL) | +350 | N/A |
| Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) | +1100 | 3rd |
| Victor Wembanyama (SAS) | +1100 | N/A |
| Anthony Edwards (MIN) | +2200 | T-7th |
BetUS Sportsbook, a top-rated NBA betting site, lists Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic as co-favorites in the latest NBA MVP odds for the 2025-2026 season. SGA and Jokic are tied at +225 odds each. They finished first and second last year, with SGA edging out Jokic for the MVP trophy.
Lakers’ superstar Luka Doncic is a close third at +350. Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama round out the top five at 11-1 odds each.
SGA is the reigning MVP, and his OKC Thunder are the defending champions. Since 2000, the following players have won MVP in back-to-back years:
- Tim Duncan (2002, 2003)
- Steve Nash (2005, 2006)
- Lebron James (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013)
- Stephen Curry (2015, 2016)
- Giannis Antetokounmpo (2019, 2020)
- Nikola Jokic (2021, 2022)
Jokic has won three of the last five MVPs, and his offensive production makes him a strong candidate every year. However, I think SGA will continue the trend of repeat MVP winners this season.
- Prediction: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander +225
NBA Rookie of the Year Odds
| Player | NBA Rookie of the Year Odds |
|---|---|
| Cooper Flagg (DAL) | -220 |
| Ace Bailey (UTAH) | +950 |
| Tre Johnson (WAS) | +1000 |
| VJ Edgecombe (PHI) | +1000 |
| Dylan Harper (SAS) | +1200 |
| Kon Knueppel (CHA) | +1600 |
Rookie of the Year is one of the toughest awards to win the NBA because players only have one chance to secure the trophy. BetUS is favoring Cooper Flagg to win ROTY at -220. He is one of the only odds-on favorites in the preseason NBA Awards odds.
Flagg was the consensus top rookie in the 2025 class, going to Dallas as the top pick.
The closest second in the latest ROTY odds is Ace Bailey. Utah selected Bailey with the fifth overall pick out of Rutgers. The 6’8 Guard is listed at +950 odds to win ROTY this season.
Philadelphia’s VJ Edgecombe and Washington’s Tre Johnson, the third and sixth picks, respectively, are tied for the third-best odds at 10-1. Dylan Harper, who join the Spurs as the second overall pick, rounds out the top five at +1200.
Flagg is the clear favorite for ROTY, especially given the injuries in Dallas. He will see significant playing time as Kyrie Irving is expected to miss most of the season with an ACL tear. Anthony Davis is also as injury-prone as one can be, opening the door for Flagg to shoulder more of the load for the Mavericks this season.
- Prediction: Cooper Flagg -220
NBA Defensive Player of the Year Odds
| Player | NBA Defensive Player of the Year Odds | 2024-25 DPOY Voting Results |
|---|---|---|
| Victor Wembanyama (SAS) | -200 | N/A |
| Chet Holmgren (OKC) | +650 | N/A |
| Evan Mobley (CLE) | +1200 | 1st |
| Amen Thompson (HOU) | +1400 | 5th |
| Anthony Davis (DAL) | +2000 | N/A |
| Dyson Daniels (ATL) | +2200 | 2nd |
Neither of the top two preseason favorites for Defensive Player of the Year earned a single vote for the award last year. Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren played just 46 and 32 games, respectively, last season.
Players must play in 65 games to meet the minimum requirements for NBA awards.
Despite health issues last year, Wembanyama is the -200 favorite to win DPOTY this season. Holmgren is the closest second at +650.
Evan Mobley, who won DPOTY last season, is listed at 12-1 odds to win the award this season. Houston’s Amen Thompson (+1400) and Dallas’s Anthony Davis (+2000) round out the top five.
When healthy, Wembanyama is arguably the best defensive player in the NBA. He also finished second in this category as a rookie. However, he has also had season-ending injuries in both of his NBA seasons so far.
Wembanyama’s injury history makes him a risky bet for any season-long award. The same goes for Chet Holmgren, who has played in just 114 of a possible 246 regular-season games in his three-year career. With that in mind, I think Houston’s Amen Thompson, who can now focus on his defense with Kevin Durant on the roster, is the best choice to win DPOTY this season.
- Prediction: Amen Thompson +1400
Most Improved Player Odds
| Player | NBA Most Improved Player Odds |
|---|---|
| Amen Thompson (HOU) | +850 |
| Andrew Nembhard (IND) | +1400 |
| Bennedict Mathurin (IND) | +1400 |
| Josh Giddey (CHI) | +1400 |
| Deni Avdija (POR) | +1600 |
| Shaedon Sharpe (POR) | +1600 |
| Matas Buzelis (CHI) | +1600 |
Speaking of Amen Thompson, he is the +850 favorite to win Most Improved Player this season. Thompson is the only player with better than 10-1 odds before the tip-off of the 2025-2026 NBA season.
Indiana teammates Andrew Nembhard and Bennedict Mathurin are tied with Josh Giddey for the second-best odds. All three are available at +1400 to win MIP this season.
There is a three-way tie for the fifth-best odds as well. Trailblazer teammates Deni Avdija and Shaedon Sharpe are tied with Chicago’s Matas Buzelis at 16-1 odds.
Thompson was fifth in DPOY last year and made the All-Defensive team. Improving on his success last year will be challenging, but if he can ascend and win DPOTY, he will be a shoo-in to win MIP as well.
- Prediction: Amen Thompson +850
Sixth Man of the Year Odds
| Player | NBA 6th Man of the Year Odds | 2024-25 6MOTY Voting Results |
|---|---|---|
| Naz Reid (MIN) | +950 | 5th |
| De’Andre Hunter (CLE) | +1000 | 4th |
| Ty Jerome (MEM) | +1000 | 3rd |
| John Collins (LAC) | +1200 | N/A |
| Jordan Clarkson (NYK) | +1400 | N/A |
| Tari Eason (HOU) | +1400 | N/A |
| Anfernee Simons (BOS) | +1400 | N/A |
The Sixth Man of the Year is another tough race to predict. Naz Reid is the betting favorite at +950. He finished fifth in the voting for this award last season, earning one first-place vote and 31 total points overall.
De’Andre Hunter and Ty Jerome are close seconds at 10-1 odds each. Hunter finished with 33 points last year, just ahead of Reid in 6th Man of the Year voting. Jerome was third, earning 91 points, and garnering two first-place votes and 12 second-place votes.
Reid played in 80 games last year, the second-most in his career, but only had a career-high 17 starts. Despite not being a starter, Reid averaged 27.5 MPG, another career high, for Minnesota. He also set career highs in points (14.2 PPG), assists (2.3 APG), and rebounds (6.0 TRB).
Even with a career year and being the defending 6th Man of the Year, Reid did not win the award last year. I believe he will take another step forward this year and secure his second 6MOTY in three years.
- Prediction: Naz Reid +950
NBA Coach of the Year Odds
| Coach | NBA Coach of the Year Odds |
|---|---|
| Jamahl Mosley (ORL) | +550 |
| Quin Snyder (ATL) | +650 |
| Ime Udoka (HOU) | +800 |
| David Adelman (DEN) | +1000 |
| JB Bickerstaff (DET) | +1000 |
| Mike Brown (NYK) | +1000 |
Players are not the only ones honored at the NBA Awards. Coaches get in on the action, too, thanks to the Coach of the Year awards.
Orlando’s Jamahl Mosley is the +550 favorite to win COTY this season. Quin Snyder is a close second at +650, followed by Houston’s Ime Udoka at +800. David Adelman, JB Bickerstaff, and Mike Brown are tied for the next-best odds at +1000 each.
Brown won COTY in 2023, leading the Kings to the playoffs and a 48-34 record. This year’s Knicks team is talented, and the Eastern Conference is weak due to injuries to its top stars. Those injuries will open the door for New York to win the top seed and secure Brown his second COTY award.
- Prediction: Mike Brown +1000
