The newest expansion at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas added over 200 new slot options. However, the 7,300-square-foot gaming room comes with a catch: no smoking. Located next to the on-site sportsbook, the smoke-free slot room is scheduled to open on August 24th, 2026.
Palms Casino Resort’s New Smoke-Free Slot Room
Palms Casino Resort’s latest expansion is done just in time for the 2026 Spin it Forward event. The new casino area is a 7,300-square-foot room that will be completely smoke-free and loaded with exciting slot games.
Unlike smoke-free areas in other casinos, the new slot room is sealed off from the rest of the casino. The fully enclosed space ensures that non-smokers can play without inhaling any smoke from their fellow gamblers who are smoking on the casino floor.
In addition to a smoke-free gaming space, the new expansion will include 224 slot games from close to a dozen developers. It is expected to have new slot releases, too, allowing players to enjoy the latest developments from the industry’s best creators.
When Does the New Slot Area Open?
Palms plans to open the doors to its new smoke-free slot room on August 24th. Just over a week later, it will host the Spin it Forward Celebrity Charity Slot Challenge on September 1st. The Hot Seats and Thursday Night Drawings events also offer players the chance to win free spins in the new smoke-free area next month.
Exclusive New Bar
Hundreds of new slot machines are not the only reason to try Palm’s new smoke-free area. It also includes a new bar with exclusive drinks.
The bar area will offer a rotating selection of draft beers from local breweries, including exclusive beers not found elsewhere in the casino. There will be specialty cocktails, too, and premium scotch and bourbon flights.
Other Casinos With Smoke-Free Slot Rooms
Palms Casino Resort is not the first Las Vegas casino to begin catering to non-smokers. Park MGM, located on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip, is a completely smoke-free casino.
Over on Fremont Street, the Plaza Hotel & Casino has a dedicated smoke-free gaming room that is physically separated from the areas where smoking is allowed. The room contains 80+ slots and was opened in 2023.
