UFC 319 Fight Card

- Dricus du Plessis (c) (23-2) vs. Khamzat Chimaev (14-0)
The main event is a Middleweight title fight between du Plessis (c) and the undefeated Chimaev.
Leading up to the highly anticipated title match, Leron Murphy puts his near-perfect record on the line against Aaron Pico. Also, Geoff Neal faces Carlos Prates, and Jared Cannonier takes on the legendary Michael “Venom” Page.
The main card kicks off with two UFC veterans, Tim Elliott and Kai Asakura, squaring off at Flyweight.
Du Plessis vs. Chimaev Odds
See the table below for the current Du Plessis vs. Chimaev odds, courtesy of BetOnline.
Fighter | UFC 319 Odds | Total Rounds |
---|---|---|
Dricus du Plessis | +202 | Over 2.5 rounds (-120) |
Khamzat Chimaev | -237 | Under 2.5 rounds (-110) |
Despite a 9-0 record in the UFC and three straight wins in title fights, du Plessis is a +202 underdog to retain his belt this weekend. Chimaev, on the other hand, is a -237 favorite to improve to 15-0 and win the first title of his UFC career.
Since this is a title fight, du Plessis and Chimaev will have up to five rounds to prove they deserve the belt. However, the oddsmakers at BetOnline list the fight as only a small favorite to go over 2.5 rounds (-120).

Dricus du Plessis (+202)
Dricus du Plessis made his Octagon debut in October 2020, defeating Markus Perez by knockout in the first round. Since then, he has amassed a 9-0 record in the promotion, including wins over Darren Till, Robert Whittaker, Israel Adesanya, and two victories over Sean Strickland.
He won the Middleweight title in his first fight against Strickland, beating the then-champ by split decision. In the rematch, du Plessis won again, this time by unanimous decision.
Du Plessis is 23-2 in his career, including 11 submissions and nine KO wins.
There is no denying that du Plessis has had an impressive run so far in the UFC. However, he is a +202 underdog to keep his UFC winning streak going this weekend.
For reference, du Plessis has not lost since October 2018. He defeated Roberto Soldić for the KSW Welterweight title but lost the rematch at KSW 45. Du Plessis has not lost at Middleweight since August 2014.
Khamzat Chimaev (-237)
After years of speculation, Khamzat Chimaev (14-0) will finally get a shot at UFC gold. The undefeated Chimaev is a -237 favorite to defeat du Plessis for the Middleweight title this weekend in Chicago.
Eight of Chimaev’s 14 career wins have come in the UFC. He made his debut in the promotion in July 2020, submitting John Philips via a d’arce choke in the second round.
Only two of Chimaev’s fights in the UFC have gone the distance. He also has four submissions and two KO wins in the Octagon. Overall, Chimaev has six KO and six submission wins in his professional career.
Like du Plessis, Chimaev has defeated multiple former champions en route to this title fight. He beat Kamaru Usman by majority decision at UFC 294 and then submitted Robert Whittaker with a face crank at UFC 308.
Over/Under 2.5 Rounds
- Over 2.5 rounds (-120)
- Under 2.5 rounds (-110)
In addition to wagering on the winner, BetOnline also allows members to wager on prop wagers for UFC 319. For instance, you can bet on the total number of rounds for the main event title fight between du Plessis and Chimaev.
The total rounds for this Middleweight title fight is set at over/under 2.5. The over is a slight favorite at -120, but the under is not far behind at -110.
Chimaev has only been forced past the second round twice in his UFC career, and both of those fights ended up going to a decision. However, this will be his first five-round fight in the Octagon. Also, his two fights that went to a decision were against Usman and Gilbert Burns, two talented grapplers who can hold their own on the ground.
Du Plessis, on the other hand, is no stranger to long fights in the UFC. His last three fights, which have all been title fights, have each gone to at least the fourth round.
Du Plessis vs. Chimaev Prediction
Du Plessis and Chimaev both have a lot to prove this weekend in Chicago. Ending Chimaev’s undefeated streak would help du Plessis silence a lot of his doubters. Chimaev, on the other hand, has a chance to finally prove he is the best fighter in the division and get his first taste of UFC gold.
Championship experience is on du Plessis’s side this weekend, and I think that will make the difference. DDP will retain, handing Chimaev the first defeat of his professional career. Also, I think the fight will go over 2.5 rounds.
- Prediction: Dricus du Plessis +202
- Prediction: Over 2.5 rounds -120
More UFC 319 Odds
The UFC 319 PPV card includes four other fights before du Plessis and Chimaev square off. Here are the latest odds for the other scheduled bouts this weekend.
Favorite | Underdog | Weight Class |
---|---|---|
Kai Asakura (-310) | Tim Elliott (+260) | Flyweight |
Michael Page (-190) | Jared Cannonier (+165) | Middleweight |
Carlos Prates (-235) | Geoff Neal (+200) | Welterweight |
Aaron Pico (-170) | Lerone Murphy (+145) | Featherweight |
Kai Asakura (-310) vs. Tim Elliott (+260)
The UFC 319 PPV card starts with a Flyweight bout between Kai Asakura and Tim Elliott. Asakura is a -310 favorite over Elliott (+260) this weekend.
Both fighters are 3-2 in their last five fights, but Asakura is an inch taller and has a three-inch reach advantage. Asakura was 13-3 in RIZIN before making the jump to the UFC last December. He lost his debut at UFC 310, a title fight against Alexandre Pantoja, but I expect Asakura to pick up his first win in the Octagon this weekend.
- Prediction: Kai Asakura -310
Michael Page (-190) vs. Jared Cannonier (+165)
Speaking of fighters who built successful careers in other promotions, Michael “Venom” Page is scheduled to take on Jared Cannonier at Middleweight this Saturday. Page is the -190 favorite, with Cannonier available at +165.
MVP was 17-2 in Bellator but is just 2-1 so far in the UFC with all three of his fights in the Octagon going to a decision. He is coming off a win over the previously undefeated Shara Magomedov.
Cannonier, conversely, is 11-8 in the UFC since joining the promotion in 2015 and he has 10 KO wins in his pro career. MVP is also a skilled striker, and I think he will be able to avoid Cannonier’s power and pick up the win.
- Prediction: Michael Page -190
Carlos Prates (-235) vs. Geoff Neal (+200)
Next is a Welterweight fight between Carlos Prates (-235) and Geoff Neal (+200). Despite losing his last fight, Prates (21-7) is the favorite over Neal (16-6) this weekend.
Prates has a three-inch reach advantage, which could prove huge in this battle of talented strikers. Prior to his last fight, he had won his first four UFC appearances by knockout. Prates will return to his winning ways this weekend.
- Prediction: Carlos Prates -235
Aaron Pico (-170) vs. Lerone Murphy (+145)
The co-main event of UFC 319 is a Featherweight fight between Aaron Pico and Lerone Murphy. Pico is the -170 favorite over Murphy (+145) in this fight, despite the latter being the sixth-ranked fighter at 145 pounds.
This is Pico’s UFC debut after going 12-4 in Bellator and 1-0 in the PFL. Murphy, conversely, is 8-0-1 in the Octagon.
These fighters have combined for 16 KO wins, but Pico also has three KO losses in his career. Murphy also has a reach advantage, and I think that will help him pull off the upset on Saturday.
- Prediction: Lerone Murphy +145
