This could go down as one of the top rookie classes in recent WNBA history with names like Azzi Fudd, Olivia Miles, and Flau’jae Johnson, along with other college stars.
That said, this could set up an extremely close race for the Rookie of the Year award. With the season starting on Friday, May 8th, offshore WNBA Betting Sites have had the lines set for some time now.
Current WNBA Rookie of the Year Odds
- Olivia Miles +225
- Azzi Fudd +240
- Awa Fam +375
- Lauren Betts +650
- Falu’jae Johnson +700
- Georgia Amoore +1000
- Kiki Rice +1000
The WNBA ROY odds are pretty top-heavy, with only the major names being presented on online betting sites. It’s Miles and Fudd leading the way with a decent gap between them and the rest of the board. At first glance, you’ll see that despite being selected first overall, Fudd is not the favorite. We also see Falu’jae Johnson a little too far down the board, given her preseason showing.
Azzi Fudd – Is the Chalk Worth It?
Although the Azzi Fudd rookie of the year odds may seem chalky, the top pick in the WNBA draft has consistently won the ROY. Since 2022, Rhyne Howard, Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and Paige Bueckers have all won the award after being drafted first overall.
Her situation also helps her, given that Paige Bueckers will draw most of the attention, which should leave Fudd with plenty of opportunities to knock down outside shots, which is an area the Dallas Wings desperately need.
All in all, this could be worth sprinkling some action on, given the history and her shooting ability.
Olivia Miles – The Best Player in the Class?
Miles, like Fudd, is in another complementary situation, being paired with Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx, who have finished in first place in the last two seasons. She’s a triple-double threat every time she hits the floor, having averaged 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in her final collegiate season.
The only downside here could be that she’ll be fighting with Kayla McBride and Courtney Williams for minutes, which could impact her WNBA rookie odds in 2026.
Overall, this could be a wait-and-see bet given her situation. If her minutes start to increase, it’s definitely worth jumping on her odds sooner rather than later.
Flau’jae Johnson – The Value Pick
This is where we see the most value, in that she could jump right into a meaningful role and that she’s already shown glimpses of her potential in the preseason. In two preseason games, she averaged 16 points and 3.5 rebounds.
With all of the top-5 scorers for the Seattle Storm now gone from last season, this leaves massive amounts of opportunity for Johnson to showcase what she’s already been doing throughout her college career.
Her ROY odds are sure to shrink once the season gets underway, barring any dramatic roster changes, and present a great opportunity for bettors early on.
Other Rookies to Watch
Other names to watch that could be of some value are UCLA rookies Lauren Betts and Kiki Rice. Betts, at 6-foot-7, is a walking double-double every time she hits the court. She averaged 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds throughout her years at UCLA and has already shown that she’s capable of doing just that with her preseason appearance.
As for her Bruin teammate Kiki Rice, she is a stat stuffer through and through, coming off a 14.9 ppg, 5.9 APG, and 4.3 RPG season. While she’s not seen as a top contender like her other draft class members, no one should be surprised if she takes advantage of her minutes.
