Reviews of Online Gambling Sites Primm Valley Casino Reopens after 17-Day Shutdown, Terrible’s Takeover

After a 17-day hiatus, the Primm Valley Casino reopened near Las Vegas. The historic hotel and casino was recently purchased by Terrible Herbst Oil Company. Terrible’s took over management of the casino on July 5th and closed the site for 17 days before reopening on July 22nd.
Why Was Primm Valley Casino Closing?
Primm Valley Resorts is one of the many casino chains to struggle in recent years. Two of its properties, Whiskey Pete’s and Buffalo Bill’s, closed in 2024 and 2025, respectively. The Primm Valley Golf Club, which featured two 18-hole courses, was sold in 2024 and has not reopened since.
Primm Valley Casino was heading in the same direction after enduring years of eight-figure losses.
Affinity Gaming, which owned the casino, announced its plans to close the property in May. The closing would have also shut down housing for many of the casino’s employees. Nearly 250 of the 344 employees live in the casino’s employee housing.
Terrible’s Buys Primm Valley
Two months after the initial announcement, Terrible’s stepped in to take over management of Primm Valley Casino. This is not the first time Terrible’s has been involved with Primm Valley, and the casino was even called Terrible’s Resort and Casino from 2007 to 2011 while it was owned by Herbst Gaming.
As part of the deal, Terrible’s gained control of many other properties, including surrounding restaurants and gas stations.
What Changes Will Terrible’s Make?
Terrible’s only had 17 days to work with before the casino’s reopening, but it did thoroughly clean the casino and hotel as well as install some new slot games. The company is keeping many of its long-term goals for the site under wraps, for now.
Officials did announce plans to continue to reopen amenities around the Primm Valley Casino, such as coffee shops, a steakhouse, and cafes.
While not confirmed, many returning customers reportedly asked for the Desperado rollercoaster to be reopened when visiting for the casino’s reopening on July 22nd.
Marc Bennett, the Vice President of Gaming Operations for Terrible’s, also mentioned plans to bring back slot tournaments and concerts. No concrete plans have been announced for the neighboring Whiskey Pete’s and Buffalo Bill’s properties.
Terrible’s also announced it will be eliminating resort fees for the casino’s hotel. VIP members from Primm Valley Casino will have their reward points tripled and transferred to Terrible’s new program.
