UFC 315 Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena Odds and Picks

Two thrilling title fights headline the upcoming UFC 315 PPV. First, the legendary Valentina Shevchenko will put her Women’s Flyweight belt on the line against Manon Fiorot. Then, in the main event, Belal Muhammad will seek his first title defense against Jack Della Maddalena.

There are three other exciting fights on the main card as well. This guide will break down every fight this Saturday. Also, I will highlight my favorite picks using the latest UFC 315 odds from top MMA betting sites.

There are five fights on this weekend’s UFC PPV card. Benoit Saint-Denis opens the card as a heavy favorite over Kyle Prepolec. Then, former Flyweight champion Alexa Grasso attempts to get back into the title picture with a fight against Natália Silva.

MMA legend José Aldo will also compete. He is a -212 favorite against Aiemann Zahabi in their Bantamweight fight.

Finally, Valentina Shevchenko and Belal Muhammad close out the night in a series of title fights. Shevchenko is a +121 underdog in her Women’s Flyweight title defense against Manon Fiorot. Muhammad is a -200 favorite over Jack Della Maddalena in his first attempt at defending his Welterweight title.

Benoit Saint-Denis (-1200) vs. Kyle Prepolec (+775)

This Saturday’s UFC 315 PPV main card kicks off with a Lightweight battle between Benoit Saint-Denis and Kyle Prepolec. Saint-Denis is a -1200 favorite despite going 0-2 in his appearances in the Octagon last year.

Before his recent skid, Saint-Denis had won five straight fights, earning a 5-1 record in the UFC. His losses last year came against Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano, losing to both fighters by TKO in the second round.

Prepolec, on the other hand, went 0-2 in his first stint in the UFC in 2019. After leaving the promotion, he spent time in Samourai MMA, Unified MMA, PFC, and BTC. Now, Prepolec is ready to return to the UFC and earn his first career win in the Octagon.

After his first appearances went so poorly, it is unsurprising that Prepolec is a +775 underdog at secure sports betting sites. However, the man known as “Killshot” should not be counted out. He has 10 KO wins in his career and has only been finished twice as a professional.

Natália Silva (-240) vs. Alexa Grasso (+205)

Up next is the first of two fights in the Women’s Flyweight division. Former 125-pound champ Alexa Grasso is a +205 underdog ahead of her fight with Natália Silva (-240).

Grasso went 1-1-1 in her trilogy of fights with Valentina Shevchenko for the Women’s Flyweight title. She submitted Shevchenko for the belt in their first fight. Then, the pair fought to a draw in September 2023 before Shevchenko won the rubber match by unanimous decision at UFC 306.

Silva, conversely, started her career 6-5-1 but has since reeled off 12 straight wins. She is 6-0 in the UFC, including wins over Jéssica Andrade, Viviane Araujo, and Jasmine Jasudavicius.

Grasso is a master of cardio and is 10-3 in fights that go to a decision. Silva is 5-2 in fights that go to a decision, and she also has five KOs and seven submissions in her career. Grasso only has six finishes total in her career, but she has also only been finished once.

José Aldo (-212) vs. Aiemann Zahabi (+182)

MMA legend and former Featherweight champion José Aldo will continue his push in the Bantamweight division on Saturday. The 20-year MMA veteran is a -212 favorite against Aiemann Zahabi (+182) at UFC 315.

Aldo moved down to Bantamweight in December 2019 and has gone 4-4 since dropping to 135 pounds. However, he is only 1-2 in his last three appearances, including a losing effort in his last appearance against Mario Bautista at UFC 307.

Zahabi will be making his ninth appearance in the Octagon and has earned a 6-2 record in the UFC. He won his debut against Reginaldo Vieira but then lost his next two fights. Since that skid, Zahabi has reeled off five straight wins, including KO victories over Drako Rodriguez and Aoriqileng.

Aldo is by far the more experienced fighter, and he has a 1.5-inch reach advantage in this fight. However, Zahabi has been the more successful fighter as of late. A win over a legend like Aldo could also be exactly what Zahabi needs to move closer to the top 10 in the Bantamweight division.

Manon Fiorot (-141) vs. Valentina Shevchenko (+121)

The co-main event of this weekend’s PPV is a Women’s Flyweight title fight pitting Manon Fiorot against Valentina Shevchenko. This will be Shevchenko’s first title defense since winning her belt back from Alexa Grasso at UFC 306.

Shevchenko is 13-3-1 in the Octagon, and this will be her 12th consecutive title fight. If you count her split decision loss to Amanda Nunes for the Bantamweight title, Shevchenko has competed for a title in 12 of her last 13 UFC fights.

There is no denying Shevchenko’s place on the Mount Rushmore of women in UFC history, but she is a +121 underdog in the latest UFC 315 betting odds for a reason. It took “Bullet” three attempts to earn a decisive victory over Grasso.

Shevchenko’s opponent this weekend, Fiorot, is 12-1 in her career. She lost in her professional debut to Leah McCourt at Cage Warriors 94 but has been unstoppable since. Counting her two exhibition wins on The Fighter season two, Fiorot has won 14 consecutive fights.

Fiorot started her UFC career with back-to-back KO wins. In her recent appearances, Fiorot has taken out the likes of Erin Blanchfield, Rose Namajunas, and Katlyn Cerminara (Chookagian).

Belal Muhammad (-200) vs. Jack Della Maddalena (+170)

The main event on the UFC 315 fight card is a Welterweight title fight between defending champion Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. Both fighters bring double-digit win streaks into this PPV main event.

Muhammad won the belt at UFC 304 by winning his rematch against Leon Edwards via decision. This will be his first title defense in the Octagon, and he is 15-3, 1NC in the UFC. Muhammad is 10-0, 1 NC, dating back to his win over Curtis Millender at UFC 236.

Della Maddalena also brings an extended winning streak into this championship fight. He is 7-0 in the UFC and has won 17 consecutive fights after starting his career 0-2.

Despite the current odds, Della Maddalena has a chance to win in his first UFC PPV main event. He has 14 finishes in his 17 career wins, including 12 knockouts.

Muhammad (24-1, 1NC) has relied heavily on the judges for his success. The champion only has six finishes as a professional and has relied on the judges for 18 decision victories in his career.

UFC 315 Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena Predictions

The Centre Bell area in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, will host UFC this Saturday, May 10th. There are 12 fights on this weekend’s UFC event, including a five-fight PPV main card headlined by two title fights.

Here are my UFC 315 predictions:

I believe Saint-Denis and Muhammad, the favorites in the opening and closing bouts, will both win. For the middle three fights, though, I think there will be three consecutive upsets.

Grasso is coming off a loss and needs a win over a rising star like Silva to reenter the title picture. Zahabi is also in a good position to win against Aldo in what could be the latter’s last fight. Finally, any time you get to bet on a legendary champion like Shevchenko as an underdog, you must take that bet.
