Junior Caminero was elevated to the starting lineup after José Ramírez (CLE) opted out of this year’s ASG. Ramírez is nursing a sprained ankle he suffered in May.

The AL will also have 15 reserve players, 13 starting pitchers, and four relief pitchers at its disposal. Conversely, the NL will have 11 reserve players, 13 starting pitchers, and six relievers to work into the rotation if needed.

The NL All-Stars are favored by 1.5 runs for Tuesday’s showdown in Atlanta. However, both squads are listed at -110 on the moneyline. The total score is listed at over/under 7.0 runs scored.

Can the AL All-Stars Pull Off the Upset?

The American League All-Stars are listed as +1.5 underdogs on the runline. This is somewhat surprising given the AL’s dominance in recent years. Since 2013, the AL has only lost one All-Star Game.

Despite the odds, the AL team has more than enough firepower to win on Tuesday. Cal Raleigh and Aaron Judge lead the majors with 38 and 35 home runs, respectively.

Pitching is also important, and the AL has plenty of talented throwers suiting up this week. Some of the pitchers expected to take the mound for the AL include Garrett Crochet (2.23 ERA), Tarik Skubal (2.23 ERA), and Jacob deGrom (2.32 ERA). Crochet, Skubal, and deGrom have three of the four lowest ERAs in the MLB this season.

Are the NL All-Stars Worthy Favorites?

The National League roster is also loaded with stars, none bigger than Shohei Ohtani. He leads the NL and is third overall in the MLB with 32 homers this season. Two of Ohtani’s Dodgers teammates, Will Smith and Freddie Freeman, will join him in the starting lineup.

On defense, the NL’s bullpen is headlined by Paul Skenes. The second-year pitcher has an ERA of 2.01, the lowest of anyone in the Majors this season.

This season’s ASG will take place at Truist Park in Atlanta, so the crowd will likely be behind the NL. Multiple members of the hometown Braves, including Ronald Acuña Jr., Chris Sale, and Matt Olson, made the NL All-Star roster.

Seattle’s catcher leads the MLB in homers so far this season. However, he is listed at 11-1 odds to win ASG MVP, just barely making the top five.

• 65 Runs (T-8th)
• .259 Batting average (77th)
• 1.010 OPS (2nd)

He has not been as consistent at the plate as Judge or Ohtani, but Raleigh has produced more homers and RBIs than anyone in the Majors. If he is in the zone on Tuesday, Raleigh could very well add ASG MVP to his breakout season.
