clash in paris

WWE Clash in Paris is a five-match PLE taking place in France this Sunday. The card features two title matches, including a thrilling fatal four-way for the World Heavyweight Title. Top stars, including John Cena and Roman Reigns, are also scheduled to perform.

I will highlight the latest Clash in Paris odds below. Also, I will tell you which storylines to watch this weekend and break down my predictions for this PLE.

What Is WWE Clash in Paris?

This weekend’s Clash in Paris WWE event is a five-match Premium Live Event (PLE). It is the latest iteration of the Clash/Bash series and continues the company’s recent run of international PLEs. For WWE fans, this also represents the latest chance to wager on their favorite superstars with the top wrestling betting sites.

WWE Clash in Paris Date

The WWE moved to primarily Saturday PLEs in 2022. However, this weekend’s Clash in Paris will take place on Sunday, August 31st. It is also the final PLE on Peacock before the events move to ESPN’s streaming services in the US.

Full WWE Clash in Paris Match Card

Here are the five matches scheduled for Sunday’s Clash in Paris, which will stream live from the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, France.

  • Sheamus vs. Rusev
  • Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed
  • John Cena vs. Logan Paul
  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Nikki Bella for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. CM Punk vs. Jey Uso vs. LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship

Stephanie Vaquer was scheduled to compete for the Women’s World Championship, earning the right to challenge for the belt by winning the Evolution Battle Royale. However, after reigning champion Naomi announced her pregnancy and vacated the belt, Vaquer’s title match was postponed.

Betting Odds & Predictions

Here are the latest betting odds for WWE Clash in Paris, courtesy of BetOnline.

Sheamus vs. Rusev

  • Sheamus (+200)
  • Rusev (-300)

Sheamus and Rusev will resolve their issues in a Good Ol’Fashioned Donnybrook match this weekend. Despite this being his gimmick match, Sheamus is the +200 underdog against Rusev (-300) on Sunday.

This feud dates back years and was restarted in late May when Sheamus saved Akira Tozawa from an attack by Rusev. The pair have faced off three times since then, splitting their first two matchups. Their third match ended in a double count out.

He is the slight underdog, but I think Sheamus will pick up the win this weekend. The Celtic Warrior needs a PLE win. Also, with heels favored in both title matches, giving a babyface the win in this match could help appease the fans.

  • Sheamus defeats Rusev +200

Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed

  • Roman Reigns (-1500)
  • Bronson Reed (+600)

Next is a grudge match between Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed. Reigns is the -1500 favorite over Reed (+600) in Paris.

Reed is allied with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman. Rollins is a long-time friend-turned-enemy of Reigns, and Heyman was Reigns’ “wiseman” for years in the bloodline before teaming with Rollins. Reed also stole Reigns’ shoes.

This will be Reigns’ first singles match on a PLE since losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. He also has an incredible singles record over the last four years. The value on his odds is low, but Reigns will win this matchup.

  • Roman Reigns defeats Bronson Reed -150

John Cena vs. Logan Paul

  • John Cena (-700)
  • Logan Paul (+400)

John Cena’s first and only match on a PLE in France will also take place this weekend. Cena will begin to wind down his retirement tour with a match against Logan Paul. The two were teammates at Money in the Bank, but their relationship quickly soured after Cena’s recent face turn.

Most sports betting sites list Cena as a -700 favorite, giving him an implied win probability of 87.5%.

Cena will likely put talent over as his career draws to a close. However, he needs a PLE victory to cement himself as a babyface again. With that in mind, I think Cena will take down Paul this weekend.

  • John Cena defeats Logan Paul -700

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match

  • Becky Lynch (c) (-700)
  • Nikki Bella (+400)

Speaking of -700 favorites, Becky Lynch is scheduled to defend her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Nikki Bella (+400). The latter recently returned to action, and this will be her first singles PLE match since 2018.

Bella’s last win in a title match on a PLE was in 2015.

Lynch has done some of her best work as a heel champion, and she can help elevate the Women’s Intercontinental title with the right opponents. Unfortunately, Bella is not the best worker in the business.

Her time with the mid-card belt should end soon, but Lynch is not dropping the belt this weekend.

  • Becky Lynch defeats Nikki Bella -700

World Heavyweight Championship Fatal Four-Way Match

  • Seth Rollins (c) (-3000)
  • LA Knight (+600)
  • CM Punk (+900)
  • Jey Uso (+1000)

Rounding out the WWE Clash in Paris 2025 card is the fatal four-way for the World Heavyweight Championship. Seth Rollins (c) won the belt at SummerSlam after cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on CM Punk.

Punk had just won the belt, dethroning Gunther to win his first title since returning to the WWE in 2023.

Rollins will defend his belt against Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight this weekend. Uso held the belt for 51 days earlier this year after winning it at WrestleMania 41. Knight has had multiple runs with the US title but has not held a main event belt since moving to the main roster.

Despite the odds being stacked against him in this match type, Rollins is a -3000 favorite to retain. He is the biggest favorite on the card, with an implied win probability of 96.77%

This match is loaded with stars and could be the best one of the night. Ultimately, Rollins will walk out of Clash in Paris the same way he entered it, as the World Heavyweight Champion.

  • Seth Rollins retains his belt -3000

Storylines to Watch

The WWE’s emphasis on long-term storytelling in recent years has made it more important than ever for fans and bettors to keep up with every storyline. Here are three storylines to watch closely this weekend.

Cena’s Retirement Tour

Cena’s retirement tour is rapidly approaching its end. With that in mind, it would be odd for the writers to use one of his few remaining PLE dates for a one-off match with Logan Paul.

This could be the start of a feud, or it could serve to further Cena’s reignited feud with Brock Lesnar, who returned at SummerSlam.  Interference from Lesnar could help Paul win without making Cena look weak in one of his final PLE appearances.

Is the Lynch-Valkyria Feud Over?

Becky Lynch’s summer feud with Lyra Valkryia over the Women’s Intercontinental title allegedly ended at SummerSlam. Valkyria lost the match and is not able to challenge for the title while Lynch is the champion.

However, she can still interfere and potentially cost Lynch her title, opening the door for Lyra to be champion once again. The only chance Nikki Bella has to dethrone Lynch is with the help of outside interference.

How Will “The Vision” Impact Matches?

The Seth Rollins-led faction of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, officially called “The Vision,” has used its power to secure the World Heavyweight Championship for Rollins. Rollins and Reed are both scheduled to compete at Clash in Paris 2025.

The Vision has had no problem interfering in matches, and I expect that to continue. Breakker is not on the card, but he should be in attendance to help his stablemates.

Rollins is defending his title in a fatal four-way, which means there is no disqualification in the match. Breakker and Reed will likely do their best to help Rollins retain. Reed’s match is a standard singles contest, but that does not mean Breakker cannot make his presence felt.
