Tennessee Titans vs. Cleveland Browns -4.0 (-111)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tennessee Titans | +4.0 (-109) | +180 | Over 34.0 (-110) |
| Cleveland Browns | -4.0 (-111) | -210 | Under 34.0 (-110) |
Starting off my NFL predictions for Week 14 is a matchup of losing teams in Cleveland. The Titans (1-11) take on the Browns (3-9) in a game that could help Tennessee secure the first overall pick, again.
Cleveland is a 4.0-point home favorite in this game. The Browns’ offense has been predictably bad this season, but their defense has been great at times.
Myles Garrett leads the NFL with 19 sacks, just 3.5 shy of the NFL record in a single season. Cleveland as a team has 43 sacks, second-most in the NFL. No team has allowed more sacks than Tennessee, with rookie Cam Ward being sacked a league-high 48 times.
Garrett very well could set the single-season sack record this week against one of the league’s worst offensive lines. The Browns should dominate the line of scrimmage and pick up the win this weekend.
- Prediction: Browns -4 -111
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills -5.5 (-104)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cincinnati Bengals | +5.5 (-116) | +215 | Over 52.5 (-110) |
| Buffalo Bills | -5.5 (-104) | -260 | Under 52.5 (-110) |
The most anticipated game in the early window pits the Bengals (4-8) against the Bills (8-4) in Buffalo. Joe Burrow made his triumphant return to Cincinnati’s lineup last week, leading the Bengals to a win over the Ravens on Thanksgiving.
Burrow is 3-0 as a starter this year, but the Bengals went just 1-8 during the nine games he missed with a turf toe injury. The desperate Bengals are 5.5-point underdogs this week against Buffalo.
Neither team can stop the run, with the Bengals (153.3 YPG) and the Bills (141.3 YPG) allowing the second- and third-most rushing YPG this season, respectively. Buffalo’s rushing offense makes up for its lack of run defense. Led by Josh Allen and James Cook, the Bills average a league-high 155.7 rushing YPG.
Cincy’s rushing offense is virtually nonexistent, averaging under 90 YPG. However, the Bengals use their quick passing offense to supplement the run. They also have an explosive passing offense when needed, and with Burrow back under center, the Bengals are in a great position to cover the spread this weekend in Buffalo.
- Prediction: Bengals +5.5 -104
Miami Dolphins -3.0 (-102) vs. New York Jets
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Miami Dolphins | -3.0 (-102) | -148 | Over 40.5 (-110) |
| New York Jets | +3.0 (-118) | +128 | Under 40.5 (-110) |
The Dolphins and the Jets both started 0-3, and their respective seasons were over before Halloween. However, despite their slow starts, Miami and New York have been two of the hottest teams in recent weeks.
Miami has won four of its last five, and the Jets are 3-2 over that span. New York has also won back-to-back home games, but the Jets are 3.0-point underdogs at MetLife this weekend.
The weather could be the deciding factor in this matchup. Miami is 0-7 with Tua Tagovailoa at QB in games 45 degrees or colder. It is projected to be in the low 40s at kickoff, giving the Jets a significant edge.
Tua’s inability to play in the cold will be a major concern in the final five weeks of the season. Three of the Dolphins’ final five games are on the road against northern teams. The Jets will capitalize on Tua’s struggles in cold-weather games, earning an upset win over their divisional rivals this weekend.
- Prediction: Jets +128
Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers -6.5 (-114)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicago Bears | +6.5 (-106) | +237 | Over 44.5 (-110) |
| Green Bay Packers | -6.5 (-114) | -290 | Under 44.5 (-110) |
Another highly anticipated game for this weekend pits the NFC-leading Bears (9-3) against the Packers (8-3-1). Chicago needs to win to stay atop the conference, but Green Bay can take control of the division with a victory.
The Packers are 6.5-point home favorites for this NFC North clash. Green Bay is 4-2 at home this year, but both of their home losses came in two of their last three games at Lambeau.
It was Jordan Love and the offense that fell short in those games, putting up just 13 and seven points against the Panthers and Eagles, respectively. If their offensive struggles reemerge this week, the Packers will be in trouble.
Chicago only has a +6 point differential this season, but the Bears’ offense averages 26.1 PPG, just ahead of the Packers’ 24.5 PPG. The Bears’ rushing attack has also turned up the heat in recent weeks, including a 200+ yard performance against the Eagles last week. Chicago will lean on its running game again this week to help cover the 6.5-point spread.
- Prediction: Bears +6.5 -106
Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs -3.0 (-122)
| Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Houston Texans | +3.0 (+102) | +165 | Over 42.0 (-107) |
| Kansas City Chiefs | -3.0 (-122) | -190 | Under 42.0 (-113) |
This week’s Texans vs. Chiefs matchup on Sunday Night Football could end the playoff hopes for the losing team. At 7-5, Houston is currently third in the AFC South and eighth in the AFC.
Likewise, Kansas City is third in the AFC West at 6-6. The Chiefs are on the wrong side of the head-to-head tiebreaker with many other playoff hopeful teams and are currently 10th in the conference.
Neither team can afford to lose, and the Chiefs are laying 3.0 points at home for this prime-time matchup.
Houston boasts one of the league’s best defenses, ranking first in points (16.5) and yards allowed (265.7) per game. Unfortunately for the Texans, Patrick Mahomes has made a career out of dissecting even the best defenses in the NFL.
Over the length of Mahomes’ career, no team has been better than KC at home in a must-win game. The playoffs have essentially begun for the Chiefs, and they will pick up a vital prime-time win this week against the visiting Texans.
- Prediction: Chiefs -190
